Went for a Sunday roast, the food was very good, especially the deserts and not too expensive, about £14 for a roast. The service was very good, despite being busy. They also had Ringwoods beer which is always a win!

We visited for lunch on 17th August. It was a Sunday and it was good that the normal menu as well as a Sunday roast menu was available. We all ordered from the Sunday menu. The meat was all very well cooked although I would argue that for the price there should have been more than one slice. The vegetables... More

We tend to eat here on special occasions as it's not the cheapest food, but as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Menu is changed regularly so there is always something new to try. Staff always helpful as especially when we are not sure what something is on the menu. If we want to eat we ALWAYS... More

Dear Schuster-Davis, Thank you very much for taking time to review The Chilworth Arms. We try to change menu at least 3 times a year in order to reflect current season produce. In fact, out next menu is planned for mid October. Please come to give it a try, too. We do get very busy and as much as we... More

Working in Southampton all week and typical that I find such a good spot on the last night. I went in and ordered the early evening 2 course special. Plenty of choice. Extremely good value. Starter was full of flavour although slightly smaller than expected (not complaining as its £12 for 2 courses). Then the main course came. Mushroom feta... More

Dear klf2011, Thank you very much for your great review. I have spoken the staff about the point you made about the cutlery. When ordering at the bar, we do ask guest to help themselves to knife and fork but if someone brings the meal out for you and clearly see there is no cutlery to eat it with, he... More

Staff are rude. Paper left near front door saying 'upsell rustic bread and pizette to push spend per head!!'. I took a picture so can prove! Real shame as was a great place but has lost sight of its customers. Food is good tho if you don't mind bad service.

Dear Carmen H, I assure you we haven't started to think that we are better than our customers. 'Upsell rustic bread and pizette to push spend per head' is nothing abnormal and every single restaurant, pub or any retail store will do this. This is only suggestive selling and doesn't mean you have to order those. I am truly sorry... More
