Description: The original Thai Tapas Bar. Opening in 2007, Mango has become renowned on the south coast for its great food and atmosphere. Set on the corner of Portswood road and the Bevois Valley student area, Mango's uniqueness appeals to all age groups. People often talk about the restaurant's ambience - there's nothing quite like the energy that spills out of Mango's front doors: Low lighting, candles, big windows, exotic murals and filigree dividers, great music and warm and friendly service all contribute to its success, but the food is ultimately its greatest pull...All food is freshly prepared to order, by expert, Thai chefs. Spices are specially imported from Thailand and only fresh ingredients and locally sourced meat is used, with a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Specialities from the tapas menu include the Coconut Chicken and Na's Crispy Beef, and the Thai curries and noodle dishes from the main menu are not to be missed by any account. Mango really is a little gem in Southampton, and now there's another one in the centre of Southampton's Cultural Quarter!

Went for dinner last night my friend (a birthday celebration) and we had a great meal. I was late and the staff were brilliant about it. We were seated and left to chat for a while which I appreciated. Anyway we shared a lovely vegetable tempura followed by a Thai Green Curry (me) and a Red Thai Curry (my friend)... More

I went to Mango last year...It is a small thai restaurant ..I had a green chicken thai,it was simple, good and creamy...The service is not the best,I think this is due by the fact that the restaurant is very small and always full of people... Price quality is ok....I will recommend it for small groups...and you do not want to... More

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday (as it's always been one of our favourite places to eat), and the service and food is always excellent. The staff have been attentive and welcoming on every visit, and never pressure even though we always take ages to decide what to have. The food is always amazing - the tapas are delicious,... More

Waited 45 mins for a takeaway due to staff incompetence taking the order. When we questioned the wait, the staff were all rude, immature and had zero customer service skills. No free drinks, no money off and not even an apology. My advice to the owner is not to let a group of arrogant staff run your restaurant.

Well some things just happen.. was not even contemplating eating out this particular evening..but Jolly glad we did ! Service & Food could not be faulted. Started off with a mixture of "Tapas".. the Crispy beef was the star there then followed by a green curry and sticky rice.. "Heaven". I will definitely return :)

I had high expectations as I love Asian food, but the food at Mango was average, and overpriced for the tiny portions.

I have been to Mango many times in the past few years. The food has always been delicious and super tasty. This is by far the best Thai in town. Not cheap though, but completely worth it.

I see a previous reviewer only went here because the Mexican opposite was closed. That's what I'd call a lucky break. The "Mexican opposite" is only one of two places I've reviewed unfavourably (normally I can't be bothered to slate a place but it was so poor I just had to as a warning to others) and while the Mango... I've been there to celebrate my Birthday and so impressed with the service, the taste of food and the atmosphere. This restaurant is a good choice to celebrate your special occasion.

Just returned from our first ever visit to Mango and it won't be our last. It was by luck that the Mexican opposite was closed tonight that we opted to try Mango and I'm so glad we did. Gorgeous intimate little restaurant nice relaxed easy service . The food was amazing so fresh and full of flavours we opted for... More
