Good place to hang out with friends or read the paper on a Sunday. Good food, reasonable prices, nice relaxed atmosphere in a light and airy setting

I very rarely drink, so it was nice when I found out there was a late night coffee shop opening. Went there a few times when newly opened. Very relaxed. Very expensive. Have been again since food being served. Went for lunch with my fiancee. We got soup and stayed for coffee. Almost £20 for only soup and coffee-tad pricey.... More

Recently took my mother here as she was visiting the city and wanted to go somewhere nice for breakfast. The woman behind the counter seemed very flustered with small pieces of paper flying around with everyone's orders on them. We ordered and was shocked at the price, very expensive for breakfast we thought! We then waited 40 minutes until we... More

Exhausted and hungry we decided to try the GarageLounge, also I was rather charmed by the interior. Was surprised that there is no table service when there is obviously enough staff about. Also had to pay on order, so put me off wanting to order say a dessert (cake) or a coffee afterwards. You are doing yourself no favours with... More

We had the tortilla and the eggy bread lunch - absolutely delicious, great service and lovely food. The coffee was also yummy. Although a bit full already we also had cake - oreo cheesecake and chocolate tart - both were delicious.

Came here with friends visiting from Wales, had the eggs florentine, was outstanding, the salmon was tasty just to look at, not too much, just right.

This is a beautifully decorated and unique cafe, and I'm happy to see they have stopped leaving cakes out in the open! It's great how the open till late and don't serve alcohol - there are not many places around that do this. Unfortunately I just don't think the food is worth what they charge - £5 for a slice... Expanded now to three sites on the island - the team behind the Garage Lounge have not overstretched themselves. Good drinks, fantastic baked goods, and an endearingly haphazard ordering system (although I'm not sure how long the post-it notes and pay-up-front system can last if they want sustained quality clientiele), I've never had a bad meal, or slow wifi in... Been many of times now and every time its been a lovely experience. Of course its going to cost more then your average greasy spoon but everything on the english breakfast seems to be carefully positioned and is of high quality. Decor reminds me of a swanky west London bar, which Portsmouth/Albert road has lacked over the years.
