I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and have never had a bad meal here. On the Friday evening we went in July, I was astonished that the restaurant was less than one third full. However, its sister restaurant immediately next door ( the wine bar and grill) was absolutely heaving; perhaps people's dining habits are changing.... More

I moved to Winchcombe this year and have been to all the town bars/restaurants now....this one was definitely bottom of my list! Very disappointing given the party of 10 I took in there! My mum's steak was tough, and we ended up bringing it home for the dog. Definitely not somewhere I would recommend with the other wonderful food you... More

Well on a positive note, I'm pleased you enjoyed the cocktails! Negatively, I'm sorry to have let you and your friends down regarding the food. I do hope you will return to us for more than just a drink and please do introduce yourself, I'd like to make sure you are well looked after next time. More

We have been visiting Wesley House ever since Matthew took it over, over 20 years ago. We have never ever had a bad meal there and it is certainly a favourite for special occasions. Today we just needed cheering up. The meal was excellent, we had our usual warm welcome and the service there cannot be faulted. The menu is... More

During our stay in Winchcombe we ate twice at Wesley House & if we had found it earlier it would have been more. We had dinner on one night which was just lovely - the ambience , the service, the food - all first class. While we were waiting we were given three small canapes/tastings which were beautiful. We both... More

On a visit to the Cotswolds, staying in Cheltenham, we were looking for somewhere nice for an evening meal. Many places in nearby Broadway were full so we came to Winchcombe instead. I have to say that the outside of the building does not reflect the wonderful meal and service that we received. Service was second to none and for... More

Had a couple of old friends visiting the UK from Switzerland and staying with us for a few days, before travelling to London for the rest of their holiday. Last Friday, popped in the Bistro-Bar for a drink and small canapes, before going for Dinner at their sister establishment, the Royal Oak in Gretton. As on Friday-night the Bar is... More

We visited for my husbands birthday and had a delicious meal with lots of little unexpected extras.Delicious home made breads. I had the Chicken terrine, cod and chocolate torte, excellent value from the set menu and couldn't be faulted. Reasonably priced wine. Service could have been a little sharper, both waitresses dropped things, but were pleasant and friendly. Lovely room... More

Lunch with my sister. Excellent service. Pleasant outlook over the garden from the conservatory. Very good food. It's worth making a trip to Winchcombe just to eat here. I am looking forward to returning.

Four of us went for dinner to celebrate twin's birthday. The main course Confit of Cod - tasteless, no salt and boring. The lamb was full of hard fat and the little meat on the bone was chewy. The plates are old and scruffy and the service mediocre.
