Although just a little walk from the centre this place is worth visiting. We had only arrived in Winchcombe late on Friday afternoon and needed somewhere to eat. After looking at what was on offer in the town itself and deciding that we did not fancy dining in a hotel, or, worse still, some greatly overpriced establishment, a local advised us to... After having spent a relaxing day touring Sudeley Castle and it's gardens we were famished. This beautiful pub caught our eye and we were greeted by friendly staff and patrons upon our arrival. Wonderful selection of beer, cider and ales. The food was phenomenal and dessert is not to be missed. We look forward to returning some day.

Went here for a family meal, 6 of us turned up, no booking at 11.30am for lunch. Service was prompt and polite, menu was varied if a little pricey (completely worth it though) and as it transpired we all ordered "small" value portion which turned out to be more than ample. Fish and chips was beautiful, and the desserts were... More

I recently went here with a group, and there was a wide range of quality, and portion sizes. I ordered a spicy veggie burger. There was no spice, and was actually lacking in any flavor overall. Disappointing. My husband ordered faggots and mash, which he enjoyed. At other parts of the table, there were massive Stilton burgers for some, and... More

Great traditional pub grub, enjoyed choices like faggots and mash, rack of ribs, ham, egg and chips and steak and ale stew. There was plenty to eat, good portion sizes and friendly, helpful service. We even had a voucher for a free bottle of wine. We managed to squeeze in some delicious puds too. Good value.

I've been here many times - ALWAYS good food and service. Its a lovely atmosphere and a typical country pub. They are never in a hurry to get you out of your seat which means that its also very relaxing.

Another vist and service and food still good. This week we had a curry served in the bar area where we watched Arsenal beat Man U in quarter final of FA Cup. A great idea for those wanting to watch footie. We have also ate in the main restaurant which also serves good food by cheerful staff!

Went for lunch with fiancé, Jason who showed us to our seats was great! Really friendly and efficient, ordered from the lunch offer menu, had the lasagne which was delicious! Would definitely recommend the food! Only area for improvement would be more staff... at the end of our meal we asked another server for the bill... and 15 minutes later... More
