Clean, warm and welcoming

I arrived at 6.10 ( Edgemoor inn opens at 6.30pm), the chaos at bar let me in and settled me on sofa with a G&T while he wrote up the evening specials. My friend arrived and Jane was attentive without hovering. The good was lovely, the salads are inventive and so tasty, we had salmon with... read more

A first rate experience in terms of both food and service. Our group had a variety of dishes off the menu and we enjoyed everything. Also the Uley Old Spot beer hit the spot.

Went there last week and had the steak, cooked to perfection (med rare) and tasted great. Generous portion of chips and peas to go with it and finished off the meal with the sticky toffee pudding which was devine, served with the best toffee ice cream I have had. I have eaten here many times and highly recommend going here... More

Went here for a family occasion knowing that when I lived in Gloucester it had a good reputation. Only a few of the party had starters, so cant comment on them. Thought I would be safe with the herb steak, so myself and my wife had that. Asked if the chips could be substituted with a jacket potato, but the... More

We always bring visiting friends and family to the Edgemoor, as it has such beautiful views over the Painswick Valley and it Chris and his staff can be relied upon to provide friendly and efficient service as well as excellent cuisine. The menus are varied and imaginative, the food very tasty and clearly prepared with care.

One of the tastiest meals in superb warm pub that my fellow three diners and I have had in a long long time. Service was efficient, warm and understated. Their triple baked cheese soufflé was to die for. Puddings too. Do go out of your way to visit.

Just stopped there for a drink on Sunday after a 10-mile walk around Haresfield Beacon, Standish Wood, Randwick, Ruscombe and Whiteshill. Staff were friendly. The views across the Painswick Valley are excellent from here. One of our group had what looked like a very tasty slice of almond and orange cake. Next time I am there I hope to try... More

We have just had the most delightful lunch at the Edgemoor. It was our first visit, but the friend we took had, unbenown to us, been several times. We were delighted with the service and the surroundings and the food was everything we had hoped. After our first course I had already decided that it wouldn't be long before we... More

For my wife's 80th a family party of 10, aged 5 to 82, celebrated at the Edgemoor. All of us enjoyed the food, which arrived at the table obviously freshly cooked. The staff overall were friendly and obliging. Have one criticism, after arriving and being seated we did wait a long time for initial service and pre-prandial drinks but from... More
