Stunning views

An extended Cotswold pub, now restaurant. We went at lunch time to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The restaurant was fairly quiet but very welcoming with relaxed atmosphere. We opted to eat inside because, although the day was sunny and the view from the garden was stunning, it was a little chilly. We asked for a table by the window and... More

Visited this restaurant whilst visiting friends who have eaten here a number of times before. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who I think was the owner of the manager and shown to table that had been pre-booked. (Pre-booking recommended by our friends) Our meals were of an excellent standard and enjoyed by all. A nice touch was the... More

Staff were attentive friendly and helpful. Meal was delicious. Desert, coffees and tea came together as requested. Even after the hottest day the views were spectacular.

One of the hottest days of the year prompted dinner out. We chose the Edgewood mostly for the views from the terrace but my food didn't disappoint. Piripiri chicken came with an interesting salad including blueberries and mango (!), but the chicken was tasty and tender. My companion's 'whole place' was disappointingly small and came with standard lettuce/tomato salad and... More

We arrived to be told we couldn't order for 15 minutes as it was busy. After ordering the food took 45 minutes to come and then we weren't offered any sauces (one dish had chips and the other was white bait and brown bread) No one came and asked if everything was okay, so we couldn't comment on this. In... More

Had dinner here. The place overlooks the valley in which painswick is sitting: rolling fields and the picturesque town of Painswick. The menu offers a lot of variety and some daily changing specials. We had a vegatarian main which was very well thought through. Companion had a beef pie with chips and pees. It was so very well done.

enjoyed a lovely ale whilst admiring the beautiful views across the Cotswold hills. Restaurant was busy which suggests the food must be good. Barman was friendly.

The view across the countryside was quite spectacular but my husband and I found the food to be a little on the ordinary side. Perhaps best to enjoy a few drinks and the view than to eat here.
