Lovely setting....amazing views.

This is a great place to visit with stunning views. The food was pleasant but nothing outstanding. Two light meals for £15 was much appreciated but I wouldn't choose anything costing more as I didn't think the standard was that great. Cheap and cheerful i'd say.

So there I was, me myself and I...Taking a Sunday night slither through the peaceful stroud countryside.... I was tired and aggrivated from a long stressful day of personal issues I won't go into. When all of a sudden, the street lights went off. I was shocked & disgruntled but carried on with all my might. All I could see... More

Hi Ghanaian-prince, Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear that you had a bad experience after a such stressful day however, due to us not being open Sunday evenings, nor stocking Buttcombe ale or serving crouton salads we're wondering whether you truly did visit us or whether it was another restaurant/pub in the area. We pride ourselves... More

Amazing views from the terrace that are well worth going to see while having a pint but overall the place is short on class and charm. Not your standard Cotswolds country pub. Modern slightly naff interior with bright lighting and Harvester-esque furnishings and food that's no more than very average and obviously straight from a packet / microwave. Staff are... More

Two years ago, an evening meal early on Friday evenings at the Edgemoor was part of our routine but a change in work patterns brought this to an end. We recently thought it was about time to make a return visit and we were not disappointed. Good friendly service and excellent food, very little had changed. We were some of... More

We visited the pub on a sat night for a meal and a few drinks. The food was stunning and the bill was not bad at all. Would defiantly return.

Late booking so got a 2:30 sitting. All good - restaurant starting to calm down, all the food still on, and still lovely service. 7 adults and 2 children under 5 and all chose well. Service relaxed but prompt. Food was lovely and will definitely come again. Recommendations: - mash with liver, bacon and gravy delicious. - peanut butter brownie... More

The place is okay, but no more. Environment a bit chaotic at times. Often drink here but have only eaten once - food was alright but overpriced. Meat dishes claim to be the usual local home cooked etc but find that difficult to believe about the beef I had. And some of the veg were microwaved.

We decided to try this place by chance as it looked buy which is always a good sign! We could not get a table but were happy to wait. My wife's G&T was ghastly and my ale was flat as a you know what! The spicy skewer was okay but a bit dry and the fish course was dreadful. Service... More

I arrived at 6.10 ( Edgemoor inn opens at 6.30pm), the chaos at bar let me in and settled me on sofa with a G&T while he wrote up the evening specials. My friend arrived and Jane was attentive without hovering. The good was lovely, the salads are inventive and so tasty, we had salmon with citrus orange salad, soufflé... More
