The Falcon has recently been updated and has a lovely interior, but on our last visit we were very disappointed with both the service and the food. Meals are small and expensive - especially at lunchtime, and the service was slow. I was so pleased that we went across the road after for lovely birthday cake!

Arrived to The Cotswolds late on a Friday night and The Falcon luckily take orders until 9.30pm. Quite late for Painswick apparently! We both ordered a sirloin (medium) and fillet (medium rare) and it was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. I was so impressed by this as I seem to have had a run of bad luck with... More

Really friendly pub a bit on the price side but we'll worth a visit. We enjoyed a great cheese board with our wine in the small bar area. The landlord was a very happy chap and as an added bonus he was from Wales

During a trip around the southern Cotswolds in August 2014, we fancied a traditional Afternoon Tea. Driving through the definitely posh village of Painswick, around 10 miles south of Cheltenham, we found the Falcon Inn. A big board outside said "Afternoon Teas". Perfect! So we parked [not easy, by the way] and went in. The snotty girl on duty said... More

We stayed here for 3 nights on a visit to the Cotswalds. The bar and restaurant were really busy Friday and Saturday with a great atmosphere. Food in the restaurant was deliscilous. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we were made very welcome.

We enjoyed an early dinner at the Falcon on a Friday evening. It is clearly very popular and was busy. The decor is understated and elegant, which I liked. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and indeed service throughout was excellent. I enjoyed a tasty beef and mushroom pie and my husband had the pork. With wine, though... More

Whilst staying in Painswick, we booked for dinner in the Falcon Inn. We had a lovely table with plenty of space. I had beetroot risotto to start which was lovely followed by a lamb main course and cheese for dessert. All four of us enjoyed our food and would definitely return in the future. Staff were great too

Booked late for a Saturday stay Room great overlooking the Churchyard with 99 yew trees. At front over door and thought would be noisy but absolutely fine. Room had a few quirks and a note saying some things could not be changed as that was the nature of the Hotel - and thats fair - you want modern - go... More

We've been to The Falcon for Sunday Lunch on a few occasions and have always left feeling relaxed and satisfied. The last occasion included 3 under 6s. The staff were accommodating to them and the menu for children nutritious and varied - more adventurous than just fish fingers and chips! Sunday Roast all round was enjoyed and the gravy was... More

This restaurant was highly recommended to us and it was a disappointment. Food was very average and the servers seem to have had their signals crossed for much of the evening.
