My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Falcon Inn. Local artwork and historical pieces cover the walls and bookcases. Service attentive and knowledgeable. The food was served appropriately warm from the kitchen and was quite tasty. We were there mid-week and it was fairly quiet but I doubt it would get much louder as Painswick is quite... More

Visited painswick for a overnight stay and booked at the falcon for dinner based on other reviews. In short it did not disappoint. Being a tiny village there's always the underlying worry that anywhere you go could be a bit cliquey, and you feel like a outsider. Absolutely none of it the staff were hugely welcoming and super attentive. Then... More

We met for lunch at the Falcon en route to our joint destination and were treated to a really great experience. The service was prompt and cheerfully polite, we had a well positioned table, the menu was interesting and varied and the food was really good we will definitely stop here again.

Such a lovely old pub. The meals here are excellent - ate here twice on a recent visit as didn't want to risk anywhere else. The Sunday roast is the best I've ever eaten - yum.

We had a nice dinner here while staying in town. The food was fresh and nicely done. Service was attentive and friendly and the restaurant felt easy and relaxed. We ate in the "bar" and a family had their nice dog with them! Americans don't allow dogs in the restaurants and, being a dog lover, it warmed my heart to... More

Stayed for one night en route to Devon. Comfortable room, good atmosphere in the bar and well presented food. The village of Painswick is a little gem, not sure why we haven't been here before.... Spent a pleasant hour walking the streets in the morning and taking in the history of this fascinating part of the Cotswolds.

I stay in the area for work 3 nights every week and often come to The Falcon for dinner, and every time I do I am impressed. The food is excellent, the service is fantastic, there's a great atmosphere and I never have to wait long for my meal, rare with freshly cooked food. I especially like the large selection... More

Went here with friends. I had a beetroot, goats cheese & lettuce starter which had barely any beetroot. The cod loin was OK and so was the ice cream. My colleagues had a sharing fish platter, mostly over cooked fish especially the whitebait. The Italian platter consisted mainly of items taken from jars. £14.95 each! Profiteroles were stale. All in... More

Stayed for one night at this lovely, country Inn and wished we had stayed longer. Very welcoming and helpful staff and owners. Friendly atmosphere and delightful decor. We were able to take our dog and after a visit to the bar, where she basked in some friendly 'petting', she settled down well in the generously sized bedroom. Huge super king... More
