Lovely atmosphere in restaurant. Great food. Wonderful staff.

I made sure we had a dinner booking. It seems the best place to eat in Painswick with a very nice atmosphere inside. I imagine it would be fully booked quite often. We found it well priced. A lovely memory of our trip to the Cotswolds.

Afternoon tea was delicious!! Loved the scones, clotted cream and wild strawberry preserves. It was so good that we returned another day for lunch which met our expectations. One of my party chose a warm brie cheese over greens then a risoto dish, hubby and I had the Greek platter, and the fourth in our party ordered a sandwich. All... More

Pub food is not always good or consistent. At the Falcon we had two consecutive nights of excellent food. Fish specials, pork and filet were delicious. Very hot and tasty soups as well. 2012 Mendel Malbec from Argentina was outstanding. Waitstaff was friendly and professional.

Last Sunday evening we visited the Falcon in search of food. They were very off-hand, assuring us that there was no food to be had in Painswick on a Sunday evening anywhere else and they hadn't got room. We went for a walk and came across the Royal Oak - who were only too happy to feed us.

I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations on this occasion, we do advise guests to make a table reservation, I presume that the Sunday in question is the Sunday prior to your review, on checking our records we served over 50 guests during this service and where possible we were able to accommodate those without reservations, however with limited... We were staying at the nearby Court House Manor Hotel (which was underwhelming) and came here for a meal one evening...and what a meal it was! Great atmosphere, good menu selection, good beer/wine selection, good portions etc etc...you get the impression... One starter, two (good) mains and drinks all less than £50 and it was super quality too. What more... More

At the heart of Painswick, in a village regarded as the 'Queen of the Cotswolds', opposite St Mary's Church, stands the Falcon Inn Pub. Entering through the entrance from the rear car park I was immediately struck by the sense of an unspoilt pub. Our party of four were asked to choose where we preferred to sit for our lunch... More

If you are ever in or near Painswick in Gloucestershire then you really must book up to eat at The Falcon Inn. It is located in a beautiful Georgian traditional Cotswold stone building in New Street. We chanced upon it one evening whilst staying at The Cheltenham Chase hotel in nearby Brockworth. What a lucky find! The place was buzzing... More

Went for dinner with a friend and having been before had high hopes. Very disappointed, the restaurant and pub was quite busy and we were given a nice table. The food however was not too great. My friend left a lot of hers, the vegetables looked particularly unappetising. We had a starter as a main course and although it was... More
