Interesting menu, beautifully cooked food and excellent service

enjoyed Mulberry Fizzes in the bar while we checked out the menu. We started with a chef's appetiser of linguine with prawns, literally two mouthfuls but the flavour was superb. Both followed with the crab ravioli. I then had the... More

We were staying in the hotel which was fantastic but had booked into the restaurant for dinner. There were two choices presented to us – either the 4 course menu at £39 or a taster menu at £60. We went for the four courses but unfortunately there are actually only three courses as cheese and coffee were extra. I guess... More

We booked this as a well earned treat and were not disappointed. The staff were friendly knowledgeable and always ready to help. The food was beautiful and delicious. The rooms were relaxing and airy. Thanks to all the staff and Simon for making our visit special

This restaurant serves 'nouvelle cuisine' at premium prices. But the quality of the food is barely acceptable and the portion sizes very small. I started with crab and plaice ravioli: one ravioli (only) in sauce, topped with a mini tomato and nothing special about the taste. My wife had seared tuna which did not taste of fish at all and... Eat else where until they buy better cuts of meat. Forget the Sunday lunch or mass catering. Hotel is very nice as a building.

There is a very varied menu with a selection of dishes to suit all tastes. It included rabbit for a main course which was delicious, as well as the more usual pork, lamb and steak. The wine list was adequate although stocks were limited with some wines not available on Sunday and Monday nights, perhaps after a busy weekend!

Food was truly amazing. Dinner and breakfast were lovely. Don't exepct to be in and out in 5 minutes dinner can take a while but worth being patient as rewarded with a treat

We stayed at this hotel for several nights and tried different restaurants in the area. The night we ate here though was our most outstanding meal. There were six of us and the menu offered not only a wealth of choices, but the opportunity to get a smaller portion as well. We all had different menu items and everyone was... More
