Thursday dinner

Lovely sirloin steak dinner! Ales are well kept with a good selection, plus with friendly service the fleece is consistently punching above average. Even when the rest of the town is quiet you generally get a decent crowd here. Food is good quality albeit a rather unimaginative menu.

Dining feels private here, as the tables aren't too close together. It is warm and cosy, and the food was spectacular. I recommend the seafood linguine and the creme brûlée.

We enjoyed our last couple of visits but the service and food were patchy in quality. Today they were right back on the ball. The waiter moved us to a bigger table without us asking. The food came promptly. We all had fish and chips and it was perfect with crispy chips, fresh fish and nice mushy peas and tartar... More

Met here for a meal with work colleagues who. Haven't seen for a while. Lovely location and atmosphere though service a tad slow at times. Food good and plenty of it. We went for a mixture of steaks, burgers, salads and sausages / mash. All good. Would definitely come back.

We went in for lunch, had a great steak, everything served pipping hot. Others have mentioned slow service, i guess we had to work to get staff attention to order, and to pay but otherwise service was very good and food excellent.

After visiting twice this month so far both at different times of the day on different days I can say the only thing consistent with the fleece is the poor service. Waiters will ignore you, walk past you not even looking to see if you're okay or making eye contact. Such simple things could have improved both visits. Another issue... More

Really lovely laid out bar and restaurant, extensive and well balanced menu. Food was good, portions large so no complaints there. My only concern was the service, the staff seemed more interested in talking and messing about with each other than actually doing the job they were there for which lets the place down a bit, such a shame but... Called into The Fleece for a meal and a couple of drinks during a recent visit to Cirencester. The experience didn't start well whilst waiting at the bar to be served. Three young people serving but I think we were totally invisible to them. At one stage, none of them were pulling pints. But chatting whilst cleaning glasses and wiping... More

Normally a pleasant pub to visit and have been many times in the past. Putting a novice behind the bar on a busy Saturday is business suicide. We were seconds from walking out and then got served a warm chardonnay!

A beautiful building & lovely interior. The food is very good & they cater well for children. Service can be a little slow at times. Overall, highly recommended.
