Every time we visit Cornwall we stay on the night travelling down and also on the way back. The food is delicious and we are booked in again for July 2014. Prices good, atmosphere cosy, food excellent. One of my favourite places.

a member of staff at a local kids play recommended this so we all (two couples, two babies) went along on a rainy Friday afternoon for lunch. First impressions: shows live football, cheap vodka shots, floors and entrance area a little grubby, menus beer stained and crumpled - all signs of an establishment that doesn't take its food offering seriously.... Food nice, but beer was good rather than excellent. (For better than great beer, visit the twelve bells).

Popped in here to watch the rugby and have a bite to eat. Beer was good, food tasty and staff were nice and friendly despite being rushed of their feet! I had fiah and chips, batter was nice and crispy and chips were fresh. I would go again!

Visited here on a Sunday afternoon. Very pleasing to see their serving times are longer than most other places. The food is well priced, tastes good and the portion sizes are good. From the front it doesn't look as big as it actually is and given its placement is was a nice surprise to find plenty of room within the... More

Visited on a wet day in February and enjoyed sitting at a table next to the log fire. Food was excellent (sausages and mash, vegetable chilli and steak sandwich for our party). All first class pub food plus, which from good fresh ingredients freshly cooked. Beer on tap in good condition. Bar staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful, and seemed... More

Went to this Local for a friends birthday , we had a private area around the back passed the open log fire. They had arranged for a small buffet to be put on , was more like a small feast, we had 3 large tables , covered with dips ,sandwiches , roast pots etc was very good value for money.... More

What a fantastic find. Whilst in Cirencester on a blustery February day we needed somewhere for lunch. I looked at my Dog friendly App and realised we were outside The Crown. Fab welcome for our Newfi (and a couple of sausages for him). Lunch was excellent and good value for money. Highly recommended. Super friendly staff and a real find

This more often than not is the central meeting place for the family lunches where we can meet with ease. The great thing about this pub is that it has plenty of room for a party of about fifteen!!!!!! The food is always great........my favourite is the slow roast belly of pork. Its great in winter when the open fires... More
