Charming former picture palace now a delightful restaurant

Visited for coffee after a local recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. The outside façade is in keeping with the Art Deco 1920's - 1930's period. Inside the restaurant is on the ground floor with a bar upstairs. The stage area houses an open kitchen. We were escorted upstairs by our waiter... read more

The restaurant was formed out of one of the original cinemas in the town and architecturally is well worth seeing, from the 1930's entrance through the foyer and into the cinema space itself, which now forms the ground floor restaurant area with further bar and restaurant space occupying the former balcony. The open kitchen occupies the original screen and stage... More

We held a corporate event at the restaurant last night. We had exclusive use of the venue as we were almost 60 people in total. The event was so easy to organise. Fiona was so helpful and supportive. She had a lot of patience and nothing was too much trouble for her. The restaurant looked great and the food was... More

My husband and myself visited on a week day for lunch and we were most impressed. The food was fresh, well-cooked and well presented, there was a good choice of both starters and main courses and the staff were friendly and helpful The atmosphere is really interesting - sadly there were not many people there when we went but we... Great restaurant in the heart of Cheltenham. We walked there and on to bars etc afterwards. It's a large venue having been an old theatre style cinema so it's not necessarily romantic, but it has a great atmosphere. The service is good and knowledgable with an extensive wine list and drinks offer. The food is quite expensive, but the quality... More

Only our greeting stopped this being a 5 star review. On ordering a bottle of champagne we were told if we had arrived 5 minutes before it would have been half price! Somebody needs to tell the waiter in question to either not mention it or let us have it at half price anyway. Apart from that aberration we had... More

I booked the daffodil for a treat for my wife birthday as a suprise and invited her friends all along for a ladies only afternoon tea. The tea was lovely and a real high tea and plenty to eat and choose from. The interior has been kept in the original Art Deco cinema and with fixings too which gives it... More

This is an amazing restaurant to visit purely for the building/decor, so it's even more impressive when the food/drinks/cocktails and staff are all fantastic as well. We had a celebration for 7, and despite the busyness of the bank holiday Friday night, we were looked after fantastically well. The food was, without exception, excellent, and a great buzzing atmosphere. Plus... More
