My wife and I try to push the boat out on special occasions and we thought we would try Le C S on one of these occasions. We therefore plumped for the tasting menu and wine flight to fully experience the Chef's skills. All the courses were well presented with a balanced menu. The highlights for me were the scallops... I took my wife to Le Champignon Sauvage for her birthday. Despite being only a few miles from where we live, I cannot believe we have not visited before. The exterior is pretty non-descript not once inside the door and greeted by the excellent staff you sense something special is in store. The service throughout was very good and only... More

Have been here a few times over the years and whilst the food quality is always superb and was again on this occasion with dishes that do justice to its Michelin awards. But nowadays we look for a good atmosphere and service style and in that Le champignons seemed dated and lacking with stern serious service. It was a quiet... More

the food was amazing, delightful flavours and unusual combinations with a vast choice. The wine list was well-chosen and the maitre d' very helpful in recommending a wine that would suit us both. very assuming from the outside but inside it has a cosy, elegant feel with an eclectic art collection. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. A very... More

We had lunch here a few months ago, just before they closed for 1 month I think it was. The lounge area is so small that is pointless having a drink before hand. The food was generally good although we found our meat being a bit tough. As some of the previous reviews, I too found the service unfriendly and... More

Incredible food. Amazingly attentive service. Awfully drab atmosphere. Lots of reviews say the same thing, and they are right - there's a strange deadness to the atmosphere. Perhaps it's the decor? Probably wouldn't go back, but so glad I went.

This great restaurant set in the lovely regency-era city of Cheltenham really deserves to be better known as the quality of the food & service is spectacular. Clearly the restaurant hasn't escaped the attention of Michelin with two stars to its name, but none the less, we ate here in early August on a Friday night and there were a... More

This is the second time I've eaten here. The place is understated and this may mean that for some it lacks atmosphere, but I like to hear what my friends are saying and don't enjoy having to compete with neighbouring tables. The food though is stunning. I had a beautifully cooked pigeon starter, then an equally lovely venison dish. In... More

I don't know why it's taken us so long to try this fantastic place but to be sure we will be returning...the food is absolutely amazing, delicious, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented - a work of art.. The service is faultless and the staff are very friendly and polite.. The restaurant decor is of a very high standard with... More

We ate here a few months ago, and it was fine. No more than that. Overpriced, certainly, and not as good as it thinks it is. Strange dead atmosphere, chilling attitude from front of house wife and scared side kick. Then thought we'd give it another go a few weeks ago. In we went and they said that they wouldn't... More
