We had never been to starred restaurant and were pleasantly surprised that it didn't feel at all stuffy. The service was good, although they didn't explain why they had chosen the wines in the wine flight that accompanied the taster menu and although the food was nice, some of it wasn't to our taste (Thai curry sorbet?!!). I'm pleased we... More

My husband and I each ordered the set 3-course meal and both loved it. I was a little worried when I made my reservation, as they couldn't tell me what the vegetarian options would be, and not all chefs have a good understanding of how to prepare interesting meat-free food. I needn't have worried. Everything was superb. (My husband ordered... More

Bit quiet on a mid-week evening but absolutely stunning food. Starters , main course and wine superb but the desserts were something else . Almost impossible to choose and so subtle.

This is a very good restaurant, with very reasonable prices for a Michelin 2 star, on both set menus and wine. However, everything is good, and not quite excellent or superb. Both my wife and I agreed that we had eaten better more tasty food in a few other restaurants, but also a lot worse in many restaurants. What is... More

Its a rare thing when a hyped restaurant surpasses expectations. The wine suggestions for each course were bang on. The stand out was the desert that had a kind of sorbet flavored with Bergamot... so if you like Earl Grey that is for you. AT £59 for three courses at a Saturday lunch at this level of quality you cant... More

I was taken to this restaurant by my son for a birthday celebration. The restaurant has a very relaxed and unpretentious ambience. There is a choice of menus with different prices, the main difference being the amount of choice provided. Service is friendly and informative. The food is just wonderful and a league above any I had had before. There... More

Maybe I am getting jaded but I think this style of dining is becoming a little passé . Amuse bouche followed by bread followed by starter followed by velouté followed by mains followed by palate cleanser blah, blah, blah is all very well if it didn't have to be eaten in such a reverential hush. On a positive note the... More

My partner took me here for my Birthday and what a great treat it was! As soon as you enter you feel immediately relaxed with the calm atmosphere and friendly staff. You have the option to have a drink or go straight through to the dinning room. The menu is a good size with good options and not too much... More

We've just returned from a Saturday luncheon at Le Champignon Sauvage. There were four of us dining today and we were greeted very well at 1pm, duly seated in the outside lounge area and given drinks and canopies. A wonderful start for the afternoon and time to read our menus. All four of us decided to select from the lunch... More

Went for lunch with friends in the week having read a lot about this restaurant. First thing I noticed was that the whole place felt very dated and the ambience very old fashioned. Food was good and good value for lunch, just didn't think the food was particularly special, service efficient and too formal for me, hate the hush you... More
