Wonderful food

Truly a dining experience but not as comfortable as other 2 star Michelin rated restaurants we have been to. The chef is awesome as is the hostess, however, it took 15 minutes for my husband to find parking and get back to the restaurant, in the rain. Valet parking seems an obvious option. The... read more

As a vegetarian my options are often disappointing compared to my husbands, however this restaurant catered especially for me and my son . The beetroot starter was divine , the celeriac main was first class so although there was no specific vegetarian menu it was one of the best Michelin star vegetarian food I have eaten. The service for excellent... More

We visited Le champignon sauvage for a birthday meal last month on a saturday lunchtime, this was our first visit here. We were welcomed into a half full restaurant, offered drinks and given menus, we decided to eat from the a la carte menu rather than the set lunch menu. I had scallops for a starter, venison for main course... More

I was taken here for a surprise birthday meal. The service was very friendly. The food was fantastic. My fiancé and I both had the venison which was absolutely perfect. The cheese course was a cheese lovers paradise, where you are able to select from a huge array of different cheeses, ably assisted by the knowledgable staff. Thank you for... More

A fantastic restaurant, bearing in mind this is a 2 Michelin star restaurant it is relaxed and not stuffy. Food is amazing, cheese 'board' is from heaven!!!

We enjoyed our meal and thought the food was good value particularly when you factor in the canapes, bread, amuse bouche and extra pudding - the wine, drinks and coffee etc did not seem overpriced either. However we weren't blown away by the food and couldn't really tell the difference between this and some 1 star and even no- star... More

I am a chef in santa fe and have had the cookbook forever so wanted to go here when visiting england, food very good, but for a michelin starred restaurant I found it off putting when 2 pounds was automatically added to the bill , something to do with sponsoring some family member in a marathon. On the bill it... More

This was our second visit - we'd had dinner a couple of years previously. We were allowed to mix the lunch menu with the a la carte, which is a nice touch. The service is pleasant and correct; the dining area perhaps a little lacking atmosphere, but the food is outstanding. There were various small-but-delicious appetizers, which we followed with... I went for a 4 course lunch here with a friend and the overall experience was a very positive one. The dining room was a little on the static side, similarly the service was frigid at times and never felt entirely genuine. I spotted one of the waitresses checking the make of my jacket which was hung up on the... More
