Booked for a special occasion and whilst I agree the decor probably doesn't enhance the experience, the food is excellent, with layers of flavour and texture. We chose the a la carte and enjoyed thoroughly. It was a Saturday evening and there was a nice buzz in the dining room, the staff lovely and there is some varied and interesting... More

A birthday treat for my wife that lived up to our expectations. Excellent and attentive service and wonderful food that is beautifully prepared. Good wine list catering for every taste and wallet size! Ok it's not a cheap meal, but when compared to other Michelin Star restaurants we have visited I would say this is excellent value.

Awful, just awful. Absolutely no 'wow' factor until the bill arrived, and then it was like 'wow', 200 quid for that! The bar area consists of a couple of sofas which we shared with another couple talking in wispas. We had asked if the tasting menu was available before we got there and it wasn't, though we were told it... More

My husband & I travelled back to England early this year & had the most wonderful lunch here, the food was excellent & they were very accommodating about my being Gluten Free. David Everitt Matthais is a talented guy , we had the privilege to meet him & he signed his book for us. His wife was great as front... More

I have eaten here a few times in the last 12 month and by and large the food is amazing. Very accomplished and at the level you would expect with the reputation of the chef / owners. As much as i love the food, i always coming away wishing there was more of at atmosphere about the place. I get... More

A colleague and I meet for an annual lunch here and have never been disappointed. Fantastic food, very attentive service. Having lived and worked in London, the overall experience here surpasses the similar rated restaurants in the City. For a 2 star Michelin experience, there is no where better. Excellent value for money. Wonderful to see a family run business... More

One of the best meals I've ever had. Every course was absolutely delicious. Amazing value for money at just over £100 for the both of us for 3 courses, bottle of wine, coffees and petit fours and amuse-bouche. Highly recommend. Very relaxed, intimate atmosphere too.

The evening started with drinks in the lounge, very dissapointing selection, just two types of gin (Gordons and Bombay) and when asked for a non alcoholic fruit cocktail the staff just looked blank and said they couldn't do one. Moving on to the meal, we all had lobster to tart with which was very chewy, I've certainly had better elsewhere.... More

My partner and i have wanted to try this restaurant for a while now and as it was my 40th we decided to give it a try. We booked a table for 4 and were warmly greeted when we arrived. The restaurant was lovley, well laid out with plenty of space between tables, lovely decor and nicely presented tables. There... More

My second visit and although it did not hit the heights of my previous visit it was still excellent. Most restaurants of this stature offer superb food at great prices with their set lunch offering. Champignon Savage takes this a step further and offers a menu du jour of a weekday evening. For £32, there are Canapés, Amuse Boucher, bread... More
