The landmark Regency building housing The Montpellier Chapter is a glorious setting for dinner and drinks. The most perfect fusion of old and new, traditional and contemporary, The Montpellier Chapter hotel has been restored to its former glory and given a designer style facelift, its stunning new look evident nowhere so much as in its superb restaurant. Parquet flooring, simple painted walls, sinuously lined furniture and carefully thought out mood lighting do little to distract from the main event The Montpellier Chapters food. Prepared in the restaurants open kitchen with its beech clay oven, dishes are seasonal British favourites with a firmly classical flavour and local ingredients used wherever possible. Award winning head chef Tom Rains is very much led by inspirational cook and food writer Simon Hopkinson (Roast Chicken and Other Stories) and his philosophy of thoughtfully prepared food. The results are stunning; simple and delicious at once. Open from 10am The Montpellier Chapters bar is the ideal setting for not only an aperitif but morning coffee, afternoon tea or a drink and a catch up with friends.

Lovely private dinning area with a very high standard of food

I went here for a work dinner in the private dinning room. There was lots of choice on the menu to suit different people's preferences and the food was a very high quality. The service was also very good and I can't fault it. I would highly recommend and hope to go back to the restaurant another... read more

Three of my friends and I came to the Chapter for afternoon tea last week. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and were made to feel very welcome by the manager Oscar. Every time I have visited he has always made such an effort to make sure my friends and I have the best service. We were having such a lovely... More

We used to go to this place when it was the Kandinsky Hotel. My husband didn't like what they did to it when is was redone, so we haven't been back for a very long time. We had a business lunch in the resturant and it was very good. The atmosphere is very sterile and the restaurant was deserted, except... More

The service was up to par on value for what you paid, and the food doesn't disappoint but it also doesn't impress.

The menu is decent, the service was on the whole good. We'd stayed in this hotel a number of time before, not eaten here, but hopes were high. Two issues. The chef who prepared my main course cannot cook. You cannot describe yourself as a professional chef and then select such a poor, fat-laden cut of meat and then proceed... More

My family and I paid a visit for afternoon tea,it was superb!! A fabulous range of cakes and a good selection of accompanying Teas. I can highly recommend the Rose Tea if you're not afraid to try something different. The staff were very welcoming . I look forward to my next visit.

The sandwiches were wonderfully fresh and light with an excellent selection of fillings. This was a lovely way to spend a afternoon with a friend and in most respects was as good a afternoon tea as I have had. However, I was very disappointed, after having treated ourselves to the champagne tea, when we were charged and additional £3.50 each... More

Visited for a business lunch and sat in the bar area, the staff we're friendly and the burger was very nice for what was described as the 'bar' menu. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
