Menu was brief and uninspiring and the food we ordered was relatively bland. It gave the impression that they couldn't decide what to be - gastropub or good Sunday lunch. Portion size is good. Staff were ok but a little distant - maybe just too busy. I wouldn't rush back and if I find myself in Dedham again would simply... More

Visited here with a friend for lunch. Greeted by a friendly Waiter who guided us to the tables. Lunch choices were limited, but we both managed to choose a meal each. My friend asked if they sold chips, which was met with a laugh. Funny, but many pubs (including the super crown pub at nearby stoke by nayland!) do.The sausage... More

This is the 4th time (at least) that we have stayed at the Sun Inn and it is as good as it was the first time. The staff is very good and very friendly. We have always felt very comfortable staying there. The rooms are very quaint bu not at all uncomfortable considering the age of the Inn. The restaurant... More

We were keen to try the Sun Inn for a wedding anniversary but were sadly disappointed. The menu choice for a Saturday evening was limited and not at all inspiring. Having made our choices the food was bland, poorly presented and represented poor value given that the prices are at the higher end for a gastro pub. The staff were... More

Nice setting in a lovely village. We did book as we popped in at lunch time and they advised it. This was good as they were busy in the evening, however we got a good table - although all tales were pretty good. The meal started with bread and olive oil being brought to the table and as another reviewer... More

My husband and I took advantage of a kid free evening and came here on a Monday recently. We had the most delicious meal. The antipasti was impressive, my lamb cutlets were melt in the mouth and the plate of puddings was beyond indulgent. The olive oil is the best I've had in a restaurant and I cannot get enough... We went for lunch last Sunday for Fathers Day to the lovely old Sun Inn in Dedham and we all thought the food was sublime. I am coeliac and therefore gluten intolerant and my daughter is gluten free and vegetarian which we know can be a bit of a challenge and we did explain this when we booked. When we... More

Stopped by for lunch last week, and everything was great. . The local bitter on tap was very drinkable and the place is just what you would expect set in one of East Anglia's most picturesque villages. . . Miss Marple would not look out of place walking up Dedham high street .. Anyhow, we grabbed a quick lunch, cheese... More
