Went here for dinner one sunny evening, service was quick and fairly polite. Dinner disappointing, small portion of chips even though it was large. Chips looked like they had been sitting there all afternoon, we had salt and vinegar and wish we had, drowned in vinegar and smothered it salt, wasnt an enjoyable experience. Shame as I'd heard fairly good... More

We have eaten regularly at Trawlers since we discovered it having moved to the area three years ago; so had no hesitation in taking very discerning friends there this week - we and they were not disappointed. OK you may either love or hate the retro decor but we love it, however it is the quality of the fish and... More

We ate at Trawlers this evening and ordered medium huss and medium cod with chips. The fish was cooked perfectly to order, the batter was thin and crisp. The chips actually tasted of potato, unlike those served in some restaurants, and were nicely fried. No excess oil or grease anywhere. Everything was piping hot and served with lemon and two... More

Ok, so you are in Seaford, and naturally want some fish and chips. I would recommend Osbournes take-away down the road, eat then on the beach. Trawlers Restaurant isn't anything to get to get excited about. Elderly visitors can't seem to vet enough of this place, and still like their drinks can served to them by a waiter. Probably not... (Ate in restaurant) Overcooked, and therefore dry fish. Ok chips and tins of drink. Elder folk on both sides of us, very enthusiastic about the plain, over rated fare. Feels like he place could do with a thorough deepclean. Walk past this one, or carry it to the beach to eat. Ho hum.

We had Cod & Huss both of which were very overcooked, the batter was so hard I could not cut it with a knife. When we complained we were given some story about the fish being thick which needed more cooking ! No offer of a discount or indeed free drinks. Hence no tip left We will not be visiting... More

We live in the Seaford area and always visit Trawlers for our fish and chips, even though there are other ones closer to where we live. We visit the takeaway and the restaurant and they are both always yummy. The restaurant is fairly basic but always clean and the staff are polite and helpful.

Stopped by for take away to enjoy on beach on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered fishcakes, sausages and chips. Priced very reasonable, if I recall it was around £5 for large chips, 1 fishcake and 2 sausages. Chips very tasty, fishcakes nice but sausages were terrible - they were low quality and tasted (according to my husband) of washing up liquid.

Have been eating at Trawlers for 20 years and now, having moved out of the area, we make a 140-mile round trip every few months for a fish and chip fix! This time we had haddock and chips. The haddock was lovely - firm, flaky flesh with that subtle haddock flavour that is lost if the fish is not fresh... More
