Superb quiche

We popped in for a quick lunch, i hade the ham, cheese and onion quiche and despite it having soft pastry it was a really tasty, homemade delight. Service was quite slow but they were busy, funky, old world feel to the place though. I would go back.

Just love coffee shops with old furniture and armchairs. Lovely array of cakes as you come in, decent coffee and we had a very good croissant breakfast with a friend for a birthday treat. The scrambled eggs going to another table looked scrumptious. Staff are always young and cheerful. Often go here when meeting people for a chinwag. It's that... More

I travel over 15 miles to visit the Apothecary in Rye to have a coffee . It was one of the few places that served well made good tasting coffee. Now they have taken on new staff the coffee is not the same, In the past a flat white was strong and smooth with a great flavour. Now it is... More

Just lovely. Excellent quality great prices and smiley happy service. Old building perfectly furnished gives casual feel to this coffee/ lunch place. I cannot think of a better place in Rye or most anywhere else for a slice of homemade cake and variety of coffees teas etc

The Apothecary is situated in a historic building that was ... an Apothecary for many years. Now turned into a fabulously furnished luncheon restaurant in the style of what can only be described as ' Shabby Chic ', there are no other words to use to describe this gorgeous eatery & drinkery. No two chairs, sofas, or tables are the... More

Great food, great atmosphere. Keep trying if you aren't lucky enough to get seated. It's on three floors but wheelchair accessible via side entrance

I would like to meet friends here BUT their gluten free options are very poor ,2 cakes on typed menu but not available and no gluten free bread. It is not difficult to have some gluten free bread in a freezer and takes little time to defrost and toast so I think this establishment is missing a trick .Their attitude... More

A weekend in Sussex found me here for lunch. Great location and quirky decor. Rather nice actually, but it was a busy Saturday and the team while friendly were obviously stretched. Welsh Rarebit was worth the wait, even thought the wait was actually a good half an hour. Luckily my iPad and their fast free wifi meant I hardly noticed... More

Great little coffee shop, quirky building in a fantastic location, good for coffee, tea, cakes and sandwiches, all home made.

Rye has long been a favourite destination of ours for a day out and, many a time, a delightful wander around the town has been finished off with a coffee and piece of cake at the apothecary. As you might guess from the name it's a former chemist shop, now turned into a 'shabby chic' tearoom. Furnishing might look a... More
