This is a very unique place to relax with excellent coffee, or you can choose from the wide selection of food, if you want a little more. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced, try the chunky toast, very simple but excellent, and the crepes always go down very well. Service is excellent, quick and always very polite. The Apothecary is one of the best places I've ever been to and I've been to lots of places The coffee is really nice and the pain au raisins are always moist The staff are extremely friendly too which is a nice surprise as some people in Rye can be really miserable I go to the Apothecary most days and... Had a very nice relaxing afternoon here drinking tea and reading the papers. The decor with all the comics plastered across the ceiling is swishy however it could do with a bit of a clean or a duster flung around a bit. Staff weren't particularly welcoming but they're efficient and I think the place could do with air conditioning or... More

Visited this morning. Hard uncomfortable chairs for some of our party - although we managed to find something a bit more comfortable for my 87 year old grandad. At 10.30am not even able to offer 2 fruit scones - however when the 1 arrived we were quite pleased as it was definitely not home made and had obviously arrived in... More

A quaint cafe in the centre of rye serving light bites and cakes. Pleasant, efficient service. They are popular, so grab lunch early to avoid the choices being limited.

Holidaying again in the area and we knew exactly where to head for! We love the old frontage, the quirky interior, the helpful staff and delicious food. One of the lunchtime specials - Beetroot and Brie on chunky toast was delicious, as was the Brie and Grape Panini. Finally, we couldn't resist sharing an enormous serving of Coffee and Walnut... Spread over a number of small rooms with very comfortable seating the Apothecary has a very pleasant relaxing ambiance. I was here with my daughter for a drink and some cake, very pleasant. Lots of choice when it came to tea and coffee. Looking at the menu I will definitely give lunch a try here when I next visit Rye.

Rye is a wonderful place for sightseeing so many things to offer I needed a spot to sit down and take it all in and the apothecary was the perfect place. With no end of choices in this lovely little town apothecary spoke to me because I had a great rustic antique look to it and from the first look... More
