Really characterful place. Like the different spaces for eating in.

Good service, quirky, interesting seating. Tables not crowded in, so feels you have you own space. Keen polite young servers. Good range of fairly simple food. We find it a relaxing place to be.

We stopped in on a Sunday morning for a quick coffee while looking around Rye. Great little coffee shop if you can get a seat as it was populated by people who had either brought a book or the Sunday papers to read in full! Not great for customer turnover but we did find a seat at the back as... More

We popped into this quirky little cafe/restaurant on a dull day in Rye. We sat down and ordered but we then found a more comfortable seat in another room. I went quickly to tell the waitress who raised her eyebrows. I am finding this more and more in coffee shops. Staff who don't want to be there. Mainly students and... More

After being sorely disappointed with the lack of service at a nearby coffee shops we went into The Apothecary desperate for some service and a drink. I had nutella crepes and a banana milkshake....ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. Homemade to order, fab taste. My boyfriend had vanilla milkshake and coffee&walnut cake and he said it was the best he had ever had. Really... More

A great place to come for a sandwich, a piece of lovely cake with a coffee or a home- made crepe. Prices are good too. Lots of character and the tables are not crushed in next to each other. I have never observed dirt or dust here and we always find a comfortable chair or sofa. The staff are changing... More

Quirky tea shop, good service with very nice tea and Victoria sponge. Young staff but very pleasant.

Went in for coffee and waited ages. Still nice place and friendly staff. We made mistake on order but changed without quibble. Thank you

We've been several times but only at tea time. Lovely tea cakes served hot with plenty of butter, the milkshakes are good as are the cakes. They also serve a range of other savoury dishes throughout the day and although we haven't tried them, they look tempting The place is a series of small rooms and every table and chair... More

My mum and I popped in here for a quick coffee and a light snack whilst visiting Rye. The décor is interesting and quirky; I like the take on an apothecary, but the balance isn't quite right. I understand that the décor is meant to look old, or is in fact old/antique, but a lot of it looks dirty, dusty... More

The little rooms go on forever, all with cosy corners and quirky furniture. Service excellent, latte very good and fresh warm scones. We will be returning! Not overpriced either.
