Lovely cream tea

Stopped here for a quick break after walking around Rye. It's a lovely interior with a wide variety of seats. Tea (Assam and Earl Grey) was delicious as were the scones (with the jam and clotted cream). Service was very friendly and quick. Would happily visit again.

My mum and I popped in here for a quick coffee and a light snack whilst visiting Rye. The décor is interesting and quirky; I like the take on an apothecary, but the balance isn't quite right. I understand that the décor is meant to look old, or is in fact old/antique, but a lot of it looks dirty, dusty... More

The little rooms go on forever, all with cosy corners and quirky furniture. Service excellent, latte very good and fresh warm scones. We will be returning! Not overpriced either.

A visit to rye was ruined by the appalling service The place was not that full and looked as others say quirky which appealed to us On entering this proved correct though the place could have been cleaner We found a seat and perused the menus and looked at the specials and made our choice but despite waiting patiently we... Went in for morning coffee. Liked the idea of the old books but what a shame they had to carry it through to dust bunnies under broken furniture. Moved twice before we found a chair that was worth sitting on. Coffe and cake not bad. One star is for the pleasant young waitress who served us. Won't be going there... More

Relaxed coffee house, with quirky decor, comfortable sofas and chairs, serving a wide selection of snacks and cakes. We mostly have brunchy breakfast, they serve the best smoked salmon with scrambled egg. With a vast selection of cakes if you return for afternoon tea!!

Our favourite place for lunch in Rye, delicious sweet or savoury crepes, great salads and cakes and the yoghurt & berry pud is heavenly. Everything is freshly made and the staff are very friendly and polite, always a lovely experience.

Have previously had coffee at the Apothecary but when we unexpectedly had family visit, decided to try lunch which was truly good and very reasonable. The owner had just made a Frittatas with chorizo and asparagus which was served with homemade slaw and a very generous salad. The soup was tomato, lentil and chilli and absolutely scrummy. Apparently the eggs (poached)and... More

We had been walking around Rye on Bank Holiday Monday and couldn't get into The George, so we're looking for a cafe and were attracted by the cakes in the window. This place has a good location on the corner of the High St and East St and appears to be a collection of a few joined up rooms with... More
