A quaint cafe in the centre of rye serving light bites and cakes. Pleasant, efficient service. They are popular, so grab lunch early to avoid the choices being limited.

Holidaying again in the area and we knew exactly where to head for! We love the old frontage, the quirky interior, the helpful staff and delicious food. One of the lunchtime specials - Beetroot and Brie on chunky toast was delicious, as was the Brie and Grape Panini. Finally, we couldn't resist sharing an enormous serving of Coffee and Walnut... The Apothecary was recommended by our B&B owners to visit. It has a great atmosphere with friendly helpful and efficient staff It has lots of little rooms with leather chairs and sofas and tables where you can drink tea, coffee etc and eat cake or light snacks. Spread over a number of small rooms with very comfortable seating the Apothecary has a very pleasant relaxing ambiance. I was here with my daughter for a drink and some cake, very pleasant. Lots of choice when it came to tea and coffee. Looking at the menu I will definitely give lunch a try here when I next visit Rye.

Rye is a wonderful place for sightseeing so many things to offer I needed a spot to sit down and take it all in and the apothecary was the perfect place. With no end of choices in this lovely little town apothecary spoke to me because I had a great rustic antique look to it and from the first look... More

A nice place to chill as you wonder around Rye. The coffee and snacks were very good. Has the atmosphere of a cafe we sadly lack in the country

What a delightful little place; delicious home-made cakes, relaxed atmosphere and cosy rooms all leading off from each other until you get to the final one with pages from The Beano pasted onto the ceiling! A great place for afternoon tea in between browsing Rye's beautiful independent shops and pottering around the lovely cobbled streets.

The Apothecary has now become my regular Sunday morning breakfast stop when I am in the area. Occupying a fairly central location on the High Street, it is a fascinating mix of the old and the very old. The coffee is excellent, the bacon sandwich hits the spot and the staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a look.

Popped in here on a recent day out in rye. Having never been before and a lot of choice of tea rooms in rye this one caught our eye. It's based over three floors that seem to have been different houses in the past, it's decoration is very unusual but very nice and cosy. The food is fresh and also... More
