Great Food at a Great Value

I went to this lovely restuarant on saturday with 5 friends. It is in a beautiful Georgian building and much like sitting in an elegant dining room rather than restuarant. The food was a mixture of subtle flavourings and spice. Some found too spicy i personally like hot! The service was a bit too long and drawn out. I think... More

The setting is lovely, peaceful and charming. The service was very efficient and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, the flavours were amazing bursting through. The little extras like the soup and the palette cleansing sorbet were delightful. I look forward to going back.

We've long been fans of the Ambrette in Margate, having loved it since it was The Indian Princess. Rye's version carries on the great tradition of fine dining with Indian spices. The crab cake starter was amazing enough before I tasted the little patty of crab relish that came with it - amazing. I had the lamb pie (I can't... More

Dined on 1st November evening as we were staying in Rye and we were so pleased we did. The food was amazing. We had the soft crab and red mullet starters followed by the pheasant and venison. The flavors are spicy but delicate truly enhancing the taste of the fish and meat in each dish. We both agreed it was... More

After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor I had very high hopes for Ambrette. We were staying at Jeake's House and told them this when booking as I didn't have a UK mobile number. It was afterwards we were asked by Jeake's House if we had received a half bottle of champagne - we hadn't :( Dinner was interesting, it... More

Three of us had the fixed price 3 course lunch (Sunday). From the reviews, I had hopes; but this exceeded them on every count: presentation, flavour, subtlety, price and charming unprententious service. I certainly didn't expect 'amuse bouche' and other extras on this menu but they were. The whole experience was better than our much more expensive local Michelin starred... More

Dined on Wednesday 19th November with friends the food and service were first class, will certainly be dining there again. It's a 45 minute drive for us but certainly worth it. Nice to have freshly cooked dishes

Very pleasant restaurant, very good menu and service. High quality food lightly spiced and a decent variety of desserts.
