it is most unfortunate that they seem to be about to go bust. used to be a good pub, but now it needs a new owner. sad to see to be honest. has the potential but needs someone with vision.

situated in the town a lovely old public house, real ales, and the food is far better than ordinary pub grub.

This pub although quite busy on a Saturday has a separate dining room, the menu was excellent and varied and inexpensive at around £25 a head with a pre-dinner ale and wine during the meal.

Had a very nice burger and chips. Staff were very friendly. Good atmosphere - nice and busy. Down to earth venue for an evening out.

Food is fresh, locally sourced, home cooked. Good sized portions. I had a burger for lunch which was so good I went back for dinner in the evening. I had Guiness... More

Went there on a wet, windy and miserable day and the atmosphere was warm and friendly, the real ale limited but what there was was first class. We had the Sunday roast and it was top hole, one of the best ever, plenty of beef, 5 veg and well cooked, washed down with a pint Cotleighs excellent bitter. Tried the... More
