Description: The Tuscan Kitchen is an intimate restaurant which specialises in Tuscan cuisine but also features food from other regions of Italy. The menu changes regularly and there is an extensive wine list to suit all tastes and budgets. Booking is advisable. A recent refurbishment means that we now have more seating overlooking our courtyard to accommodate larger groups. The Tuscan Kitchen was taken over by Lucy and Gerry Avena in September 2013.

This was a special birthday lunch party for my brother. There were 19 of us including three young children who were able to run about on the patio outside at the back. We were accommodated in a long "L" shaped room towards the back of the restaurant, so were able to have the party as if in a private dining... More

This place serves a decent Italian meal in a fairly good restaurant setting and has an ok selection of Italian wines. We had a good lunch here at the weekend at a very reasonable price, the only slight irritant was being charged £4 for a bowl of about six rather tough green olives. There is no doubt that the food,... More

We booked a table here for Saturday night in advance of our stay over August bank holiday. On arrival it was already packed, but we were shown to a nice table for two. There is certainly a Tuscan style to the décor, and with the lighting and candles had a romantic feel. The menu is not extensive but has a... More

Ate here 10 minutes before last orders after a concert at the church just up the road. Staff could have not been more obliging - set up a table for the four of us and we were given ample time to relax and absorb the lovely menu. Food, service wine was just great. Deserves the good reviews.

My wife and I eat at this restaurant about 2/3 times a year. We would visit more often but live in Bromley, Kent. We dined there on thursday 21st Aug and found it to be as good as ever. Very good food, well cooked and presented, good honest cooking and generous portions. We had a bottle of red - San... More

I booked a table for my husband's birthday as part of an overnight getaway to Rye and it really made our trip. The interior is lovely and cosy with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are really friendly, quick and very attentive but without making you feel hovered over. We received a complementary 'birthday' glass of fizz on arrival (nothing... More

The Tuscan Kitchen is a great food find in Rye. My partner and I each had a 3 course meal in this family run restaurant. The service was excellent, staff very attentive and caring. The ambience was good with a cross section of young and old clientele, making a busy but unitrusive atmosphere. The theme is Italian but this is... More

Great staff..great food.great menu.wonderful find and am wanting to go back! The only bad thing on this excellent restuarnt is the choice of wine by the glass. One choice of red is poor so I had to order the bottle !...(other half drinks white)..house wine wasnt so good. No complaints bar that small issue and will be returning.Highly recoemmended.book early.

We hadn't planned on having lunch in Rye, but I'm so glad we did. We were just walking around and got hungry walking up Lion Street! I had heard the food was very nice and I wasn't disapointed. Very simple, genuine italian cooking. We shared a plate of antipasti, folowed by black truffle risotto (I make risotto at home and... More
