Description: The Tuscan Kitchen is an intimate restaurant which specialises in Tuscan cuisine but also features food from other regions of Italy. The menu changes regularly and there is an extensive wine list to suit all tastes and budgets. Booking is advisable. A recent refurbishment means that we now have more seating overlooking our courtyard to accommodate larger groups. The Tuscan Kitchen was taken over by Lucy and Gerry Avena in September 2013.

We had a very good meal here with excellent service. The food and wine were of a very good standard and the ambience and service were first class.

Just finished having a fabulous meal in the Tuscany Kitchen. The surroundings are wonderful, the food was excellent and the staff are friendly making you feel so welcome, they greet you like you are a friend rather than paying customer. If you are in Rye, looking for somewhere special to eat then this is the place for you.

We visited the Tuscan Kitchen twice during our stay in Rye and on both occasions the food, wine & service were truly amazing. It is a little more expensive than some Italian restaurants but the standard is so high that we were very happy to pay just a little more.

We phoned to book a table several days ahead, and received two calls back confirming our reservation. We were greeted on arrival like honoured friends, and the service thereafter continued at the same high standard. The ambiance in the restaurant was excellent, with what seemed to be a full house of satisfied diners. The food itself was freshly cooked, excellent... More

I had read good reviews about this restaurant. Maybe we were unlucky with our choice as some of the other dishes looked lovely and my wife's ravioli in a butter and sage sauce were light and delicious she said. My son and I both had the Spaghetti Alla Vongole and all I can say was it utterly lacked flavour. There was... More

The lovely gentleman squeezed us in last minute as we had heard good things about the food and we are so glad he did as we had stunning food and brilliant service.

My 13 year old son and I visited the Tuscan kitchen for a pasta lunch. My son had Capellini Pomodoro, he is an extremely fussy eater but he devoured the lot in no time. I had Spaghetti Vongole which was truly delicious and fresh. The manager explained the pasta was hand made on the premises and so were the amazing... More

My wife and I had a great visit to the Tuscan. The service was first class, and the manager shook my hand on arrival and upon leaving. The atmosphere was brilliant, a centuries old building with all the scars and bendy wood one would expect in a building built before trains, planes and automobiles!! If I do visit Rye again,... More

We came with some expectation have heard about the refurbishments and read the reviews. It was disappointing. The service was lackadaisical I had to ask for the wine list then the wine took ages to arrive. The male waiter seemed preoccupied although it wasn't busy. Rose was good. The pasta dishes very ordinary a lot of pasta spice sauce but... More
