Surf and Turf to your hearts content ...

Daily Special starter of King Scallops enjoyed by all! Steaks were chosen with the Surf option adding prawns or calamari and enjoyed, and the Home-Made burger was substantial and tasty - just no room left for dessert! Pleasant waiter. Only problem was limited hours of opening, but maybe we were... read more

Only problem was limited hours of opening, but maybe we were too early in the season? Worth checking this - or... More

Arrived in Rye longing for something to eat and saw this Restaurant immediately we parked. As my Daughter and I love Seafood it was a definite choice. We both had Scallops which were delicious, her husband had Baked Goats cheese pie which also was very good. We followed these with, Fish & Chips, Baked Whole Plaice with seasonal veg and... More

We came here to eat and on arrival the staff couldn't even be bothered to show us to a table. No one checked with us that all was ok during the meal either. The food was ok but overpriced for what you get. I'm pretty sure my fish had been microwaved. Other than that, perfectly pleasant, but there are definitely... More

While walking past we decided to have lunch here, but as soon as we opened the door it looked like a gruby pub, tables close together and it just did not feel like a nice place to enjoy a fish lunch. Having said that we were in, we probably should have turned around, we selected from the lamianted plastic menu... More

We arrived at about six thirty without a reservation. We were offered either a table after eight o'clock or one that was booked for later in the evening butwhch meant we would have to be out by eight o clock so we chose to do that. Our meal was excellent, service was excellent, fast and efficient and the staff looked... More

Had two really enjoyable meals here. Lovely choice of food, especially the seafood, all beautifully cooked. Friendly efficient service. Thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I decided to have a day out in Rye and to enjoy some local produce for lunch. Carey's had it all fresh fish and locally sourced lamb. The starters of scallops and whitebait were wonderfully presented and the portion size wax sufficient. Our main courses of Baked fillet of cod and whole plaice were equally very tasty.... More

I visited Careys in September 2014 and even though it was on the canal, I went for the fresh local lamb instead of fish, which they're known for . I also had the Bailey's Crème Brûlée which was divine. It's a really friendly, cosy, warm venue with lots of wooden pew style seating and plenty of areas for large groups,... More

Decided to go in for lunch after exploring Rye. Scallops and mussels lovely and my wife had sole. Very pleased with the lunch and the bill reasonable. Will return if in Rye again.

Boyfriend was working near by, so we chanced it as we noticed the lovely exterior as we were driving past. Service was friendly but was told to pick a table, not shown to our seats. Partner ordered whitebait with side salad to start. Was a salad with whitebait on the side and had a garnish of hair. I had the... More
