Went at lunch time enjoyed full table service for the same price as bar food . Excellent tasting food with good quality meat and vegetables .relaxed service in a venue that is a must to visit when in Rye .

We dropped in for lunch, two adults two children. They were expecting a large party shortly and checked with the chef but were able to squeeze us in. Great service in well looked after surroundings (would agree with other comments that toilets are tired and cramped). Food was out within 20 mins (our benchmark) although they kept apologising for the... More

Had the good fortune to have lunch in the bar following a great walk through Rye. Located on a cobble lane it is tucked away in Rye a heavenly Cinqu Port in southern England. I Have always wanted to eat here being a pub that was around before the first European's discovered Australia. Delightful low ceilings, with tasteful decorations and... More

We live near rye & venture there for dinner quite frequently. The restaurant itself, is set back from the high street and the building itself is so charming, you feel when sitting for dinner your dining in the past. The menu has some excellent choices and the food is well prepared, cooked to perfection & presented well. The service is... More

We took a peep in the Inn and loved each room downstairs with loads of character, huge fireplaces and beams all over. Food was nice on terrace.

The antiquity of the Mermaid sets it up for a great atmospheric experience - lots of oak beams taken from ships in the 14th/15th century. The service is attentive and professional without being over-enthusiastic. The food is very well prepared and presented and the quantity is adequate without leaving you feeling stodged. The staff were very friendly and made the... More

I booked two months in advance as I heard it was quite difficult to get a table. The Mermaid itself is very spooky and our two teenage daughters did want to leave the table to use the bathroom - we hadn't even read the reviews before which says it all! Very eery place. Food and service amazing. Would defintely recommend.
