By several people in Rye we were recommended this restaurant. Slightly disappointed. The service very kind, professional to a certain point ( we order a bottle of dessert wine, Sauternes, they had to get it from the cellar and brought to the table at room temperature) and very good manners. I thought our waiter was superb and the place itself had a nice ambience but it didn't disguise the fact that the food itself wasn't up to much considering the price; everyone at my table felt a little let down. Nice place, but I don't think there is much excuse for four 3 out of 5 dishes on one table. more

ok our holiday cottage is across the road but that only makes this superb restaurant even better. Wonderful fresh fish, imaginative starters and reasonable prices if you eat downstairs. Black squid risotto was one of the best I have eaten anywhere in the world more

The Fish Cafe is fantastic. We took one look at the menu and knew it was the restaurant for us. The staff were really helpful and friendly. They were fully booked but suggested a time to come back.
