What can I say. Beautiful setting, wonderful food, but the worst customer service I've ever come across. Don't waste your money - there are so many restaurants to choose from in Lewes where you will receive good food and a polite and welcoming service.

Following confusion as to whether I had ordered a coffee--he thought not--I was abruptly told that''I did ask''.We then waited ages before we decided to cancel the order and leave. At that point the waiter wanted to argue the issue and then having engaged with us turned his back and walked away.A polite ''I am sorry about the confusion'' would have... I am left feeling frustrated having visited this cafe today. My Dad, 18 month old daughter and I waited 45 minutes for our food, at which point my hungery daughter was becoming agitated. We could see at least three tables that had come in after us had already been served. Annoyed I went to the bar and asked that my... More

I came here for lunch with my mother and first impressions were very good, such a lovely quaint setting with lovely music that set the atmosphere. There was a good choice of food and the portions were generous. I had a lovely bruschetta with tomatoes and pesto, very delicious and very filling, kept me going through work. The salad dressing... If you don't mind waiting 35 minutes for the food to arrive, and are then prepared to run the risk of the wrong dish being served, with another lengthy wait (and a reminder) before getting what's ordered, then this is a reasonable place to eat. The food is pretty good, but the service far too casual. Oh, and a message... More

This used to be a great place for breakfast, lovely bread and reasonable service. Don't know what has happened recently. Last week the toast was served burnt and had to be sent back. Today it was served literally two inches thick . Hip hop music was very loud to suit the servers rather than customers. Servers couldn't care less. Are... More

Have visited Needlemakers quite a few times and have always enjoyed the food even though the service has often been mediocre to say the least. We visited again recently and this time felt the quality of the food simpy couldn't redeem the surly disinterested service we received from the waiting staff. Requests for condiments and a spoon for the coffee... More

Converted textiles factory with little shop outlets within it & a lovely rustic cafe Reminded me of the old Kensington High street indoor market from the 80s Vintage clothing shops & bric a brac to ponder over for hours

Blessed with a great location. Food is home cooked but can be bland. Coffee is ok. Thing that really lets this place down is the service. My worst experience was being the only the customer, ordered a coffee in front of three staff and said I'd sit outside, waited 25 mins and had to go back inside to find out... More
