It was our twin boys 30 birthday so we decided to have lunch in Lewes at the John Harvy service good, beer good unfortunately my food was poor. I had the battered Cod but it was more like cremated Cod over cooked with burnt batter and the fish had almost vanished. My wife's meal was good.

Went here for lunch. Nice pub with good beer. Food was good, although the sausages really needed to have been served with some greens. All very tasty and the staff were very friendly.

Spotted this pub on an earlier visit when passing through Lewes. It looked interesting so returned to try it out. We were particularly keen to try the Dark Mild - a brew that is not the easiest to find. Our visit was at lunch time and the bar was busy but not crowded, with a good vibe. We found a... More

We have been a number of times and as a pub it's great. Lisa who works behind the bar is top as is all the waiting staff upstairs. We had the set Christmas menu. The starter was fish cakes and they were good. I had the sausages and mash which also was good, I decided not to have the Turkey... More

Lovely decor. Unfortunaly the bar staff seem to be only friendly with locals. The waitress that brought our food was very polite & when she took our plates away, she asked if everything was OK for us. The food was excellent & reasonably priced. Also we didn't have a long wait for it to arrive. It is a shame that... More

Given the JHT is the brewery tap for one of the best breweries in the south of England, the pub itself is a tad underwhelming. Beers kept well & nice decor, but very little atmosphere - good place to visit if you like Harveys beers (they have the full selection, many on gravity) but if not, I wouldn't go out... More

As the "Harvey's" brewery's pub, we were told that this was the place to go to sample the new "Bellowhead Revival" ale. Unfortunately, the bar-staff seemed to have never even heard of it. Instead, my partner and I decided to sit and enjoy a glass of other Harvey's ales in this pleasant pub. The interior is reminiscent of an old... More

Visited on a soggy October afternoon and was able to enjoy a couple of enjoyable pints of quality ale. Interesting bar area with 2 halves of a huge keg in which you can sit. Separate eating areas on the ground and first floor. Staff very friendly making us feel wecome.
