Went there today and had a carvery and what can i say it was gorgeous! All freshly cooked not like other carvery's in the area and a good selection all over and all at a very good price. The staff are all nice and friendly and the place itself feels very homely which is nice. Left the place feeling very... More

We pass this place regularly but are always put off by the derelict petrol station next door. We were in the area this afternoon and wanted a roast so decided to chance it. On opening the door we were immediately aware of the warm and welcoming atmosphere, the décor was very pleasant, as was the general layout of the place.... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. Decent room, with a little bit of noise from kitchen extractors which were just outside but well muffled by double glazing. Daily carvery very good value and beer not expensive. Breakfast was a good choice and on a help yourself basis. I would definately stay here again.

Went in here for a breakfast buffet and couldn't wait to get out. We walked in and stood for a good minute in clear view of the "manager" until she decided to get up and see us to a table, hardly spoilt for a choice as there was no one in there ( I wonder why) and we asked if... More

I Stopped in last week to try the carvery as I had been told it was good. This was an understatement, I received a friendly welcome from the Chef who was called Tim, he advised me of the choices which were good. Well cooked food and plenty of it all freshly cooked. I left with a full stomach and a... More

Called in with my daughters & young family. We were shown to a very comfortable, clean & pleasant table. Service I found to be excellent. I ordered & paid for our food & drinks at the bar. The food was 1st class...we had carveries, while the children went with smaller dishes. Quality was brilliant, as was quantity. Everything was wonderfully... More

Arrived at 2 o'clock, paid for three carverys, people waiting to be served with food at the carvery, barman panicking, trying to find "chef", after ten minutes, the "chef" appeared from the toilets. We were then told that we had to wait while he cooked more roast potatoes! After about fifteen minutes the "chef came out of the kitchen with... More

We were travelling to Brighton yesterday, & intended to eat at our excellent local, The King's Head at Lower Horsebridge, beforehand. Unfortunately it was extremely busy so we decided to give it a miss this time & find somewhere en route. We had visited the Newmarket Inn many years ago & were not impressed but, knowing it had had a... More

The trouble with a Carvery, is that I always compare to Toby. This place has a long way to go. Don't get me wrong, bar staff were friendly. However the food is key, 3 joints, one slice of each. Veg was pretty standard. Only average I'm afraid.

Stopped for a late lunch on a Thursday around 2pm. Place almost deserted. We didn't want carvery as we were out for a meal that evening so asked for bar menu - we were told there was no salad and other items (lamb shank) due to no delivery that morning. We ordered beef and gammon baguettes and was told that... More
