The trouble with a Carvery, is that I always compare to Toby. This place has a long way to go. Don't get me wrong, bar staff were friendly. However the food is key, 3 joints, one slice of each. Veg was pretty standard. Only average I'm afraid.

Stopped for a late lunch on a Thursday around 2pm. Place almost deserted. We didn't want carvery as we were out for a meal that evening so asked for bar menu - we were told there was no salad and other items (lamb shank) due to no delivery that morning. We ordered beef and gammon baguettes and was told that... More

We come here every couple of months and the food has always been tasty and good value! So we booked a table for a Saturday lunch time the place was empty we thought they were closed when we arrived. The new management served us and were abrupt and pretty unhelpful, the food was awful, undercooked potatoes gravy with no flavour... More

Over delivered on the food, was great grub and fantastic value. Beers were a tad on the expensive side but that was the only bad part. Room was to a higher standard than expected and had a very comfortable bed and good hot shower. Breakfast was a plesant experience.

Have been twice to this Carvery in the last six months, and both times my party and I had a first class experience. Obviously the problems of a few years ago have been rectified, as we all found the staff friendly and helpful, the food fresh and an amazing selection of vegetables (nine last visit). As two of us are... More

Driven past this place hundreds of times and never even considered driving out of Lewes to it, but a family member wanted a carvery, so.... Impressed by the size of the place and how friendly the staff were, especially to our disgustingly unruly toddler. Curious, rather half-hearted horse-racing theme, although the newmarket is the name of the field next to... More
