Had a lunch time snack, with friends earlier this year and food was average but service was poor. Staff need some customer service training. Would like to take friends here from out of area, but too embarrassed by service. Will not risk it again.

I cannot agree more with Byron (see his review). Food horrid, staff unpleasant and surly. They just couldn't care less. Don't touch with a bargepole.

Over the last 9 months we have held two business receptions here and on both occasions we have had excellent service. The plus point for this venue is the historic setting and rooms. The receptions were held in the 'Sheriff's Room' on the first floor which is reputed to be the room where Thomas Paine (author of 'The Rights of... More

Originally booked here but changed booking to Pelham House after reading reviews on Tripadvisor.Thought we would at least have a meal and see what we missed.Nothing is the answer.Surly staff, poor quality food and presentation and overpriced. No wonder it was empty.

Food was well cooked and plentiful. Excellent value. We ate smoked salmon and Soup for starters. I had lamb chops and my partner pork for mains. I had cheese board and my partner Eton Mess for dessert. No complaint and plentiful.

Good menu choice, well prepared, cooked and presented. Very traditional classic service style. Nice to get warm rolls, iced water without asking

A very good meal, friendly service, and an open plan service hatch in the dining room to watch the chefs preparing the meal. Better than a TV programme.

We were looking for somewhere for lunch and on passing the quaint looking White Hart we thought we would try their Sunday lunch. The food was quite good but the whole experience was spoiled by the waitresses. They were abrupt and unfriendly, not one smile during the whole two hours we were there, it felt like we were putting them... More
