Description: Small but perfectly formed Jali is a refined Indian restaurant set within the landmark Chatsworth Hotel on the seafront at Hastings. The smart menu, which has won an AA Rosette, fuses traditional dishes with modern techniques to produce elegant dishes such as marinated prawns in tomato gravy and a rich, spicy dum biryani.

I booked a table at this sea-front restaurant in Hastings based on its reviews on this site. When I looked at the menu, the first thing I noticed was that there were a number of regional Indian dishes on there. This was clearly a genuine Indian rather than a Bangladeshi restaurant, something confirmed in conversations with the young, keen and... More

Was a regular at the little gem on the seafront till about two years ago. Glad that Ramesh is back at the helm of the affairs again. You can feel the freshness of the flavours and the individuality in each of the dishes. The missus and I have already been once and are already anticipating our next visit.

Quality of food excellent the owners love of food from India was obvious, welcoming and reasonable prices. The best meal we have had since we moved to the south coast a year ago. It's worth travelling to this restaurant from London plus views of the sea if your lucky enough to get a window seat as we were.

We dinned at The Jali last night for the first time in ages as we had experienced problems before. We gave it another chance as it is the only Indian we know of in Hastings where you can dress smartly if you want to. We were not dissappointed the food was superb with service to match. We will certainly be... More

A new menu was introduced last week. Appart from different main courses and a wide selection of vegetarian ( all of which the staff were happy to take time to explain ) the menu included a selection of 'street food' . An interesting addition . The food and service were of a high standard .

We ate here for our anniversary dinner and it was the perfect place with a view of the sea. We're eaten here twice since the new chef and menu arrived and it was excellent. We tried the pani puri which I've never had before which includes a shot of sauce to pour on top of the puri which was as... More

Had a nice curry from here recently, not dined in the restaurant but I was told it will be relaunching with the original chef from when it first opened several years ago.

After reading the previous review, we were a little dubious about giving it a go, but as it was only a few doors down from our b&b, and the fact we are curry addicts, we thought we would throw caution to the wind, and give it a try. We had a lovely meal, only 4 tables being used, which on... More

Went to Jali last night after deciding to go out at the last minute, went two or three other place but they were all full up, so ended up at Jali. Rolled up out side to find a big sign saying (JALI NOW OPEN AGAIN) not a good sign. So we walked in expecting to be welcomed by a bangladeshi,... More
