Delicious and Dog Friendly

We went for lunch in mid January and were really impressed. Hubbie had fish cakes and I had the mackerel salad, and my daughter had a very generous child's fish and chips. They even let our dog in and he curled up on the floor next to our table. The food was delicious (esp my daughter's fish... read more

We were just walking along Rock-a-Nore Road in Hastings, looking at the lovely old fishermen's net drying houses, when we found Undercliffe House, an unassuming little restaurant with a real welcome on the mat. From the moment we entered the restaurant, ushered in by the gentleman running the bar, and who discussed the 'Meantime' lager with us and then offered... More

New Years Day most restaurant's were shut or had an hour wait. So luckily, just before we got back to the car to drive out of town, a couple were just vacating their table at the Undercliffe House. The staff were really friendly and the menu was small but a good mix of food. I had the lamb burger which... More

Clean and tidy. Nice ambience. Staff very friendly. Food amazing and fair prices. I had seafood lingunie (amazing ) full of flavour and ampule. One of the staff went to the fish huts to buy fresh fish for us. Can't get any fresher than that. Definately revisit and recommend. Well done all at Undercliffe

What an excellent choice it was to come to this cafe. Prices were a bit steep - for a brownie with a sticky toffee £5, but it was worth it. Quality was excellent. My peers had chocolate cake, and something else, cant remember what was it but everyone were very pleased. Coffee is good quality as well. Staff were very... More

Saw the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to pay a visit as we were on a day's outing accompanied by dog. It did not disappoint. Very friendly welcome. I had the prawns cooked in garlic butter and would travel the 30 odd miles again just to repeat the experience. Delicious.

Although we've been living in Hastings for years we'd never been to Undercliffe and it was well worth the wait. We both had breaded plaice, chips and peas which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. It's dog friendly which is an added bonus (and our dog received much attention whilst we were there!). The... More

We had lunch here on Saturday. A beautiful day of sun and a bit of wind. We sat at a table for four in the window and enjoyed a couple of hours of good food and company. Three of us had the plaice special and one of us had the swordfish steak and we all agreed the fish was excellent.... More
