My son and I went to Hastings for a couple of days at Easter 2014 and I was determined to have fish and chips on the beach - and the best fish and chips. Having selected this restaurant and take out in advance I was met with withering stares and sarcastic comments as we trekked hungry from the station but... More

Caled in here again recently, still great. The queue was out the door, always a good sign. Even though it was busy the guy serving had a smile and a joke for everyone. Our cod and chips was freshly cooked and delicious as always, crunchy pickled onions, we sat outside in the barrel seats by the Jerwood and thoroughly enjoyed our feast. Recommended.

I went here last night, after I had a couple of drinks, for some chips on the way home. They obviously thought I had drank more. I paid with a £10 note and was given change from £5. I instantly questioned it and said 'I have you £10' and before my server even opened the till to check, he laughed... More

Got cod and chips here today to take away (with a curry sauce!) and it was hot, fresh and tasty. There was a queue at lunchtime which we took to be a good sign - turns out it was. Good value too so all in all I recommend.

My partner and I bought takeaway fish and chips (and a battered sausage) for our dinner yesterday from this restaurant. Most people have had their fair share of fish and chips from the seaside but we'd go as far as to say these were the best we've ever had. The chips were fresh and crispy but not dry inside and... We had a pleasant fish & chip dinner with our toddler here. The food was good & we would go back. The seating is limited as the place is quite small but you can obviously get the food as a take away.

For my birthday, we decided to bid The Shard goodbye and spend the money that we would have spent (on dinner overlooking London) on a weekend away in Hastings. What an (almost) forgotten corner of England this is, but not too forgotten it seems for there to be absolutely LOADS of eating places that haven't gone bust. People vote with... More

At 7pm we went hunting down a fish and chip shop that was open. Coming to Hastings and not sampling this fayre would be a crime. The Blue Dolphin did not disappoint.Huss & Chips , Cod and Chips , mushy peas and mugs of tea were brilliant. The chips were unusually good being non greasy. The only downside was the tomato... More
