Beautiful little cafe with a periodic set of decor to it. Selection on teas, cold drinks and cakes. Does have a lunch menu, and even though we didn't try the food - what was being served looked and smelled lovely. A beautiful find which is worth a visit for an hour.

July 8th 2014: Late afternoon so cake selection was limited to about eight or so. We were advised by the very helpful waitress that the apple & raspberry was particularly nice and moist. We weren't disappointed and even the Twinnings Earl Grey tea tasted better than one usually expects. Most of the cakes are baked on the premises too! Can... More

The cakes are to die for (all home made on site) and the afternoon cream teas are great value and out of this world (I have never managed to eat it all and not bring some home). The ambiance is wonderful - a great start, middle or end to a days shopping.

Service can be a bit variable but the food and ambience make up for it. Delicious sweet potato pie and the granary bread is always moist. This has become one of our favourite Hastings haunts.

My partner and I go into this cafe regularly - mainly on Sundays for a light lunch. The service is always very good and the food is always delicious. They also serve lovely cappuccinos. They are usually quite busy, which means the food can take some time to get to you. However, the staff always inform us if it is... More

A social entrprise providing great food. Some unusual dishes, especially good for lunch and cake/coffee visits. Their Tea for Two is especially good.

We had a couple of drinks in this cafe, surrounded by pottery and works of art. A lovely atmosphere and great service. The price was affordable too.

This is a welcoming place with good service. The cakes are good and so was my lunch: sweet potato and peanut tart served with an interesting salad. The range of vegan food is limited but lots of veggie stuff. This may be a charitable venture being an autistic project but the food is good and so is the service putting... More

On a bleak rainy day we found Cafe des Arts for an afternoon drink. We were not tempted by the scrummy cakes but the tea and coffee was very welcome. The service was cheerful and quick. The old arm chairs gave us a really comfortable respite and we could recommend this as good cafe which supports the autistic charity.

Cafe des Arts has to be an all time favourite that blends into your weekly life. From the leather studded high chairs to the nonchalant way you can have a read of the newspapers, busy yourself on your laptop, or banter with Corrina about Debbie's amazing cakes. Try and catch them fresh out of the oven.. heaven! Home made food... More
