My partner and I visit Hastings & St Leonards fairly frequently while visiting family, but we've struggled to find a restaurant which is a real treat to visit. Somehow, this little sage-green fronted beauty has always evaded us, I had no idea it was here, nor did the family we have that live here. We have been in twice now;... More

A delightful restaurant with stunning food, locally sourced where possible and of superb quality. The staff were both polite and knowledgeable and recommended excellent wines to accompany our meal. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed, just right for a special lunch. We had two two-course lunches with a glass of wine for less than £40.00 and so felt that the... More

Sunday lunch...restaurant busy but not insane. The problem was that the attentive and warm staff were doing their best but one more of them would have made all the difference. It's evident the manager must be trying to cut some costs but I'd have thought Sunday lunchtime in August would be an obviously busyish time and it wouldn't break the... More

The staff were very nice, and efficient. The food was interesting and high quality - excellent cuts of meat and fish. However, the selection and menu seems a little bit "too long" - can't help but question how fresh things are - but everything we had was very good. The decor probably needs a make over. The main issue that... More

Mid-week dinner and the 30 or so places at fairly close tables were all full by 8:00PM, so booking is essential. Restaurant décor is uninspiring. This place concentrates on 'food'! You should plan to spend the entire evening here: not that service is slow, but everything from order taking to food preparation, to service is done at a calm pace,... More

We arrived earlier than boked but was no problem, my wife & I had Turbot & Dover Sole both excellent, washed down by the House white wine which was reasonably priced. Understand St Clements has been open 9 years & has up to now been used mostly by locals glad now with the recent article in Daily Telegraph than we... More

Attached to the Horse and Groom pub this small restaurant is very cosy, the waiting staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic I had beef brisket and bubble and squeak, two foods I never thought I would pay good money for in a quality restaurant, but it was fabulous, melt in the mouth delicious meat and the bubble... Five of us had a great meal on a Friday evening. It was full but the service was fine. Lovely friendly staff. The food is imaginative and beautifully prepared. Very fresh ingredients with a focus on fish but also sublime belly pork and steak. Lovely desserts. Good wine list. Ask the staff for recommendations. I recommend this restaurant without reservation.

We have had lunch at St Clements on numerous occasions and have previously always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately on this occasion after waiting an hour for food, I dared to discuss the fact that we had been waiting for a long time. There were only six other people in the restaurant at the time, but the waitress explained to us... More

Lovely food, obviously fresh. Everyone else's looked great too, and the service was warm and helpful - thoroughly recommended.
