A gourmet haven in St Leonards on Sea, St Clement's serves artisanal delicacies sourced from the bountiful stocks of local suppliers. As well as achieving a prized Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2012, St Clement's enjoys mentions in The Good Food and Hardens guides, and praise comes from the king of fish and seafood cooking, Rick Stein. Seasonally changing dishes are served alongside a carefully selected stock of wines.

Excellent food and wine

Excellent food, wine and service. The only criticism is the menu has only been tweaked rather than changed in the 8 years we have been going. We'd defiantly go more frequently if the menu changed more dramatically.

Not sure I share the views from some of the other reviewers. I couldn't really fault the food, but not as good as I had been led to believe. Starters were good, but main course of cod was disappointing. If I was in Hastings again, I would rather visit Pier Nine at Hotel Zanzibar.

Faultless service. You don't really notice service unless it's really good or really bad, and this was excellent. Outstanding seafood spaghetti and sticky toffee pudding, great fish cakes. Reasonably priced given the quality - would highly recommend.

We came back to this restaurant for the first time in a long while for a birthday lunch and were very impressed with the whole experience. The seafood starters and main courses ordered were excellent, the wine was a perfect match and the service was faultless. We will certainly be returning in the near future.

Paid a recent visit to This restaurant and found the service and food to be excellent. Lovely atmosphere and apparently a very popular place to eat.Not the cheapest in the area but well worth a visit for any occasion.

Visited the restaurant yesterday and wasn't disappointed. Honestly didn't think St Loenoards would have such a good restaurant and was very pleased. The set Sunday lunch menu was very good and the staff were very helpful.

We booked lunch on a Saturday for 7 of us. The 2 children were beautifully catered for - 1 with a nut allergy, they were given lovely pictures to colour with felt tip pens which kept them busy for a couple of hours. The head waiter was exceptionally kind and helpful with the wine list offering us 3 different wines... More

This is a fine dining restaurant that offers simply superb food and service and stands head and shoulders above all else in the area. OK, so what did I eat: Moules Mariniere to start which were the best Moules I have had in years, plump tasty mussels in a traditional sauce that was ever so ever well made. The mussels... More

Visited this restaurant for lunch today 6 March 2015 after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. The food when it came was excellent. The problem was the service Greeting was very good and the order taken was good. Starters arrived Fish soup very good and Moules mariniere again good Then it took about 10 minutes take away the empty plates but... More

Tucked away in St Leonard's, was 5 mins in a taxi from Hastings. Nice restaurant but rather on the small side with only enough room for about 8 tables. Made it nice and cosy as we got tucked in the corner but a few tables were in the middle or in front of the bar and would have felt very... More
