Five of us had a great meal on a Friday evening. It was full but the service was fine. Lovely friendly staff. The food is imaginative and beautifully prepared. Very fresh ingredients with a focus on fish but also sublime belly pork and steak. Lovely desserts. Good wine list. Ask the staff for recommendations. I recommend this restaurant without reservation.

We have had lunch at St Clements on numerous occasions and have previously always enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately on this occasion after waiting an hour for food, I dared to discuss the fact that we had been waiting for a long time. There were only six other people in the restaurant at the time, but the waitress explained to us... More

Lovely food, obviously fresh. Everyone else's looked great too, and the service was warm and helpful - thoroughly recommended.

The food was absolutely delicious, but the interior of the restaurant is so bizarre. It's not smart, or casual. It doesn't quite feel like you're in a french bistro, or someone's living room. And it certainly does not match the quality/price of the food. Also, you have to share the loo with the neighbouring pub which is a lovely pub,... More

Two of us visited on 26.06.2014 "on spec" without reservation, for lunch. Warm welcome from the waitress, and excellent food well prepared and served. Have eaten here before - a few months back - and standards remain very high. Well worth a visit - and the Horse and Groom, an excellent free house, is next door. The restaurant has just... More

Living in Hastings, I've been wanting to visit St Clement's for years, & today, we finally did! I was so impressed! My partners chowder, & my salmon starter looked, smelt, & tasted beautiful. The seasoning & flavours were full, & tasty. Our mains were also amazing. His mackerel & Thai salad smelt fresh, & looked vibrant. My belly pork had... More

Having spent a lot of time looking for a good restaurant to eat at in Hastings I stumbled across this little gem. It's a small place with only 32 seats. We were in a group of six but were fitted in as we were eating early at 6.30pm. The choice is superb with most of us wanting everything on the... More

A small restaurant with a big menu. We enjoyed the following delicious meal over the Easter weekend. Starters of Hastings fishcakes with herb & caper creme fraiche, duck & pork confit terrine with piccalilli & toasted sourdough followed by mains of slow cooked belly pork with mustard mash, red cabbage & red wine sauce and fillet of seabass with lemongrass,... We visited St.Clement's for Sunday lunch and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, service was attentive without being obtrusive, the food was fantastic, with a beautiful potted slow roasted beef to start followed by melt in the mouth pork and tender rib of beef. Having eaten out many times in Hastings, this is the best... More
