Last minute dinner, midweek. I had the cod, chips, mushy peas, my friend had the plaice, chips and mushy peas. Both were freshly cooked, hot, good size portions. Staff very friendly, even when I asked about the bread and butter (see previous review), good to know they listen to customers comments. Overall, a great visit, left very full.

Went at 13.30, late lunch. Friendly staff, fresh cooked fish, lovely chips and all the condiments you need. The fish is the best batter any where, wish they could teach other shops! This was my mother's favorite chip shop and she went there for 50 years, often getting take away for all her work mates. Reckon if you have visited... More

Great menu, hot food, nice friendly staff, great size portions. More than your average chip shop. Would go back again. Just one problem, please change your bread for your bread and butter. Cheap bread doesn't work. Just giving my honest opinion. Overall, a great place to eat.

Too cut a long review short, this must have been an off day. I would guess they where using not the freshest oil and most of the specials where not available. I will say the fish was very fresh, but the batter was very dark and quite heavy, not light and crisp. The chips had the same over used oil... More

We live in London but checked online for best fish & chips in Brighton and this place came up and you know what? We were not dissapointed one bit... we had the grilled large cod in a garlic and lemon dressing with chips and salad - fantastic! Staff very friendly too!

Went with two friends early on a Saturday evening. It's a bit off the beaten track - but only about 10 minutes from the station and widely reported online to be the best fish and chip place in Brighton. There were quite a few reserved tables but they managed to squeeze us in for a sit down meal. The prices... More

Bardsley's is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Brighton tourist area. One could miss it without explicit directions. The restaurant has an old world charm about it, including the decor, hospitality and service. The food is outstanding, reflecting the 4 generations of perfecting the art of identifying the best fish, and then cooking it in a way... More

We arrived to a very friendly and accommodating welcome. The fish and chips were very enjoyable, and the fish was cooked perfectly, however I did feel it was very expensive, especially paying over £7.50 for battered sausages and chips! I would however visit again in the future

The restaurant was spotlessly clean, with very friendly service. We were celebrating my 70th and after we all had a superb meal, i was spoilt by staff with icecream with a candle, and being sung Happy Birthday. Would reccomend the food. Wonderful fresh fish, and delicious chips. Thankyou for making my celebration so special.
