Ate here after seeing good reviews on here. Yes it's a little way out from the sea front but it is so worth the visit. Super friendly staff - service swift and food just amazing. Great value for money too. It's lovely to go to a traditional fish and chip shop but even nicer when the people working in their... More

Real shame it used to be good. Stale greasy fish and rank chips. Also very expensive at over 5 pounds for just a take away cod. Staff very friendly though which is why its rated average rather than poor.

Visited Bardsley's as a family and all ordered Cod & Chips in various sizes. All the fish portions were great possibly the best that we have had. In truth the chips were just OK, nothing wrong particularly but had better. All washed down with a good old cup of tea. If we were in Brighton again we would return. p.s... More

Just had awful fish and chips from here - it has really gone downhill! Was served overcooked chip ends and poor quality fish in the worst, greasy batter. Sorry but think that any of the other shops in Brighton provide far better quality fare at 2/3 of the price. Staff were pleasant enough - but maybe someone should notice when... More

I ordered medium Cod and Chips - the whole meal was badly cooked and so greasy it left a sickly after taste in my mouth - they may have been rushed and behind on orders - this however is no excuse for bad quality. Perhaps they need to change their oil more frequently on busy nights.

I have been to Bardsley's before and it has always been top notch. I visited this week with two friends and ordered the Haddock it was probably the best I have ever had! The fish was perfectly cooked and chunky the batter crisp and not too thick. The service was very good and friendly and the surroundings suited a fish... More

I travelled a long way after reading several recommendations the latest in an issue of Conde Nast The walk from Churchill square where the bus stops is a far trot but I had planned my route using Google street view maps so I didn't get lost! I needed the walk back after the meal to ease my guilt! I order... More

7 of us with no reservation. Nothing too much trouble. Really good fish and chips with really good,no hassle, service. £90 for all of us which to some may appear pricey for the fayre but worth it compared with the rubbish one usually gets in Oxfordshire.

been coming here for years, mainly to the restaurant, but dropped in twice in past few weeks after an evening class. Saved my life to get a quick take-away meal at 9.15. Nothing better than burning your fingers on a perfectly cooked battered fish on a cold evening in Brighton!

I called in for fish and chips , the fish fryer was so impressed with his own ability to cook fish that it made me feel as though I was truly honoured to be in this restaurant. When the fish and chips came I was quite disappointed with the quality . The owner should go around fish and chip shops... More
