we went to the walk in place in the lanes. It looks a bit like an old style pie and mash shop, but don't be fooled. This is a very top class fish restaurant. A very varied menu, with superb food. The wold stir fried crab, was unusual but delicious. Also the make rail pate with the bread was amazing.... More

What a great spot! It was just the two of us and what lovely ambience it was. Our service staff were fabulous in particular the Portuguese manager who's a real asset to that business. We were unfortunate to have a couple of disruptive guys near us and he was professional, firm and fair in moving them on. Word of warning... More

How does a restaurant which doesn't take bookings succeed in this world of planning? Go and see, you won't be disappointed.Luckily we arrived at exactly the right moment, but if we had had to wait, with our experience from last night we would have waited and waited.... In short, amazing choice on menu, amazing food delivered by friendly helpful staff, even... More

We visited this restaurant following reading other reviews on trip-advisor, we started with the one on the seafront but they could only offer outside seating and while it wasn't cold there was a bit of a breeze! At this point we headed to the lanes to be told there was a 1 - 1 1/2 hour wait...we decided to put... More

On a wet October night, with no street lighting, to find Riddle and Finns beach-side restaurant takes some doing. For them to make all that effort well worth it speaks volumes for the quantity and quality of their food - and they did it in spades. The Rock oysters were the best I've ever had and the bouillabaisse was second... More

Didn't realise that they did breakfast till 11.30. Lovely restaurant, polite staff and the ambience is great, all tables have candelabras and it is lovely. The choice was good, presentation was amazing, as was the quality and taste of the food. Cant wait to go back to try out the main menu

We decided to spend our first anniversary here, after reading reviews & pawing over the menu! We were a little early for our table (they couldn't fit us in until 9pm even though I booked over a week in advance...! I took this to be a good sign, and it didn't really matter anyway), but they managed to seat us,... More

We like to pop in when we're in Brighton and the food never fails to deliver. Fresh fish and seafood, prepared and served in interesting ways, by friendly attentive staff. The medley of desserts is also very good, if your not already full.

Loved Riddle and Finns. We went to the one in the Lanes as we preferred the specials menu. We had very good service, great atmosphere and good choice of food. We were presented with bread, mackerel pate and other dips on arrival. The prawn starters were excellent and so too was the salmon linguine. Would certainly go there again, good... More

One of the few lovely days in August this year and we sat at an outside table as the setting sun lit the sky. A lovely starter of monk fish cheeks with garlic mayo to dip into. Yum. Then the piece de resistance - crab in Malaysian curry sauce. I can't tell you how delicious this was. We haven't tasted... More
