Worth a detour

A little off the beaten track but well worth a visit. We were there yesterday and the owners were really attentive and friendly. Leffe on draft and fabulous tapas which is really good value. Drinks aren't cheap but I don't think you visit Brighton for cheap drinks. If that's you're thing go to Wetherspoons. We will be back here regularly.... More

Just spent a couple of hours in a typical friendly good old fashioned pub (which is a rarity these days) I have just eaten the tastiest dinner I've had for a long long time, fairly priced, cooked to order, can't wait to be hungry again, a very satisfied customer, and a good choice of alcohol to boot, and they have... Had been here for Sunday lunch and had a good meal but unfortunately the experience wasn't repeated on a return visit. Felafel tasteless and fell apart, potato's brava spineless and the humous lacking olive oil and tahini. Friendly staff but needs to decide if it's a pub or a food pub.

Although a short walk up a hill, this pub is warm and welcoming. With great drinks and friendly staff, I'll definitely be visiting frequently!

Having read previous reviews I was was excited to return to an old haunt and experience a traditional pub with good food. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver - literally. To be fair the staff were very apologetic about the 2 hour wait for food, explaining they had to 'start from scratch'. But honestly, I could have reared the chicken in... More

Great little pub! I have had food here a few times and loved it and the choice provided. Also great for a drink and to watch the live music in the evening. Overall a place that should certainly should be checked out when in Brighton :)

Visited on a Friday night with my niece visiting from the US and other members of the family. It was a relatively quiet evening so we got a large table without booking which was just as well because our Tapas order was substantial. All of the food was very freshly cooked and tasty. Well priced and good value for money.... More

After spending a lovely day in Brighton I went along to The Greys for some dinner with my sisters and nieces. We were made very welcome by the staff and had a lovely evening. We had a mixture of dishes, from fish to meat to salads. The chicken I had, "Chris's chicken" I think it was called, was yummy. I... More

Friendly barman who advised on food and good beer. Friendly and chatty locals. Bit small if busy. We missed the music which would be welcome. I think you have to pay sometimes so check first. We had tapas which was excellent and filling.

What a fantastic little gem in the hustle and bustle of Brighton, good music and great food. The landlord Ben, a welcoming face and so enthusiastic. Great pub, go there now.
