Disapppointing that the food nor the experience was what we had read about and what the awards would lead us to believe. The chips were rubbery and the fish whilst nice and fresh was nothing special. I've never had a bad experience here and have visited on many many occasions. The food is of awesome quality and the staff are friendly - so much better than Harry Ramsdens which I found to be very bland and greasy! You wont go wrong at Bankers.

No ice cream and in a small glass. Scampi cost about £4 and was 5 small pieces. Halibut tasted like it was 5 days old and the chips were stale and tasted a... More

We had the Medium Cod Fish and Chips and Haddock Fish and Chips. The fish quality was good but the batter was tad oily. Room for improvement on the batter.

This is the best chippy in Brighton, whether you eat in or take away. I live in Portslade and drive to Bankers to get Fish & Chips when we have them they're that good.

I went here with my wife after reading very good reviews, The decor was very clean and the staff friendly. My wife had cod and chips which she said was lovely, I had sausage and chips but I have to say the sausage really lacked in flavour and I think the meat content was minimal. Before leaving we both used... More

What can I say about Bankers? If I've had a long day, can't be bothered to cook and fancy some comfort food this is where I go to pick up some fish (or chicken) and chips. Never let me down. Not once. Always does the job I want it to. The food? Well its fish and chips. But well cooked... More

Whenever my mum's brother and his wife come over to Brighton to see my mum we always go to Bankers for fish and chips. Senior Citizens get a deal where they can have tea, coffee, cod, chips and mushy peas for £5.50 (I think Monday to Thursday lunchtime) and it is a bargain. Afraid I have to wait a couple... More
