I first visited Casalingo when I was living a couple of streets away after graduation from Sussex Uni. I loved it then - and bought several visitors to it during that time (mainly for Pollo Milanese!) Coming back to Brighton, more than 10 years later - I was delighted to find it again - and to take my husband there... More

Slightly out of the main area of Brighton on the West side, we tried this because it had good reviews and was close to our hotel. Weren't we lucky!! Probably the best authentic Italian meal we have ever had. Clam linguine was to die for, and the Cozze Marinara as starter was brilliant, My wife had mushrooms in garlic followed... More

Truly amazing Italian which we went to for my boyfriends birthday. Service was truly great so attentive without crowding us. I had wild mushrooms to start which were incredible and lasagne for my main.. All food is homemade and really really good. Excellent value for money too. It's rare to go to a restaurant and see every table taken. Just... More

There's nothing better than an Italian restaurant that provides gorgeous, home cooked, traditional food using the freshest ingredients, but sadly these restaurants are few and far between. However, Casalingo is one of the very best Italian restaurants that I have ever been to, and up there with places charging twice as much. Minestrone was homemade as was the pasta in... More

My first visit to this excellent Italian restaurant . The staff were without doubt attentive, considerate and friendly, giving all diners a feeling of total relaxation. The food and wine were of superior quality. My starter of moules was delicious. Free grappa liqueur was supplied at the end of the meal.

We booked to celebrate our graduation, six of us in total. We were given a smiley welcome from Mario and shown to our table straight away. A waitress was with us soon to take our aperitif order and then we chose from an extensive menu of traditional and more unusual Italian dishes. Figs stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in... More
