Not a great meal here. Expensive for small portions compared to other Spanish tapas restaurants. Also food was reheated, baked plasticy eggs! Very average or below. Won't be going back in a hurry. Had a great reputation, needs to keep an eye on the quality.

Don Carlos is surely one of those lovely treasures Brighton holds. The place is small so make sure you book in advance. Showing up on Friday evening won't get you to enjoy their amazing dishes. When you go to Don Carlos, don't think high street tapas and think Spanish authentic food. Portions are generous and not exactly carb free so... More

This place always seems to be full. Great atmosphere and food that is excellent for sharing. Works really well for groups and special occassions. Not very formal, but very lively. The only issue is the light that is a bit too bright.

First time at this Spanish Tapas restaurant at the entrance to The Lanes in Brighton. Very basic decor, tables almost on top of one another, food quality very poor and service extremely non plus! Supposed to be 'tasting plates' the portions were huge! Nobody advised us on the portion sizes and all in all a very disappointing lunch! Will not... More

I have been trying to get a sit in this place for a while and that was well worth waiting. It s quite a small place and you can sit either in the narrow street or indoor. The staffs are really welcoming and will let you know that the tapas sizes are enough for one person and I can conform... More

Today was my first visit to this restaurant and I was simply blown away. The staff are amazingly friendly. Being with two friends, we ordered a selection and shared the food. The most delicious, mouth-watering food I have ever eaten, anywhere! Beautfully presented, home cooked wholesome food. I will definately be back.

I have had many tapas meals with my partner as it's a favourite of ours so we thought as we was in Brighton we would try this place. We didn't book but managed to get in straight away and the staff were very friendly and provided a great service. After ordering a selection of different tapas dishes they arrived but... More

I hadn't been to this place in over a year and it still feels exactly the same. Simple, rustic, authentic and tasty food and friendly staff. Quick service also, which is always good. My only negative is that it's quite expensive if you are hungry/greedy!!!!, but saying that, I will still go back!!!

We have been going there for quite a few years both as a family and with friends. The service is friendly and the food superb. Great value for money and feels like a bit of Spain on your doorstep. However they are extremely popular and busy so it is best to book or you could miss out on a great... More

Booked a table for six on a weekday lunch for a group of ladies to experience tapas, it was very busy and the male waiters seem to ignore us most of the time rushing around to please everyone else, although I did order in Spanish! trying to get the bill at the end was a chore!! food portions are a...
