Description: Indian Summer is a Brighton based restaurant owned by long time friends and business partners Minesh Agnihotri and Byron Swales. Indian Summer was born from a mutual passion for Indian food and a firm belief that Brighton deserved some genuine, contemporary Indian cuisine which was completely lacking from the food environment at the time. It offers authentic Southern Indian & European cuisine made with traditional recipes from India. You will not find chicken tikka masala here, just great favourites like masala dosa & bhel puri. All our dishes are made individually without additives or colourants & we only use free range chicken. . In keeping with much of India’s culinary traditions much of the food is also gluten and dairy free.

This is not "yer standard Indian". It is Indian fine dining and a notch up from the usual stuff so do not expect the usual menu you will get at every other Indian. Italian waiting staff (very attentive and polite) but I think the chef is INDIAN rather than bangladeshi. Makes a difference. Lovely Ambiance. Lovely presentation. Try the lamb... More

Sorry this is the very first negative review I've ever written. The place was pretty cool to look at, but there was not a single item on the menu that caught my eye, imagination or taste. So rather than spend £25 on who knows what I had a beer and left. So check the menu before you go in and... More

it took us 2 attempts to book a table because the restaurant was so busy. justifiably so the staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. the menu is very different from the standard stuff you see in most indian restaurants so every dish was a bit of an adventure. we had some specific dietary requirements but the chef... We visited last night and everything was amazing. The menu can be described as Indian fine dining I suppose. We had the prawns and chicken starters followed by lamb for mains. The meat/prawns were all amazing quality and cooked to perfection with amazing flavours. Service was friendly, professional and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu and gave recommendations. Wine... More

Table for two on a busy night. I think we in the right place as we weren't overrun by bigger parties. The decor is muted with a hint of luxury. The real wow factor is on the plate, with some amazing dishes. "Oh my god taste this" was the commonest subject of conversation. The little extras (yes my bouche was... More

An exceptionally good Indian. Authentic regional cooking. Not the formulaic fooder served up by most "me too" high street curry houses. I visited on a sunday lunchtime having read in the press about the new "sunday roast" menu. I had the Makhni – 1/2 a spatchcock chicken, marinated in awadhi spices in a Makhni sauce for under 13 quid, served... More

This is by far the most delicious Indian food I've ever tasted and the decor is sophisticated and contemporary. I believe the menu is based on street food. Not your average korma or tikka masala here! Be prepared for a completely new Indian taste experience!
