Set in The Lanes, Brighton’s most happening district, Food for Friends has slowly spread over three shop fronts, developing a labyrinth of brightly lit, modern dining rooms kitted out with stylish minimalism, some overlooking the bustling lanes outside. Wines are organic and mainly vegan, coffee is fairtrade, and an irresistible afternoon tea is served.

Visiting Brighton for Vegan food. General feedback from people we met was FFF was best. We visited Saturday evening 20th December 2014 Tables too cramped ( waitress banged my elbow as she went past..no apology). Noisy. Food just average. Just had a feeling that they didn't especially care...would try again, but not impressed. (To compare, Terre a Terre that weekend... More

It was our first experience of eating in this restaurant, or any vegetarian restaurant, and it is one if the best meals we have ever eaten. All the food was beautifully cooked and we didn't miss the meat at ALL! The chocolate sharing dessert we had was like a little piece of heaven and should definitely be tried by any... More

Went here with my girlfriend and it was incredible. Everyone says 'you have to go there, it's sooo good' so we had to try it, and I can safely say we will be going back again and again. As both of us are meat eaters we were unsure of how it would be, but I'd happily turn veggie after going.... More

First time that we had visited the restaurant and it was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Brighton. We didnt book but did turn up unfashionably early so were seated straight away with efficient service (they weren't accepting bookings for saturday lunch). The menu choices were comprehensive and afforded sufficient choice - we had three of the... More

Food was really delicious. Two of us shared 6 mezze dishes. Just the right amount of food for lunch. Relaxed atmosphere with cozy and contemporary decor. Will be going back & would def recommend. Yum!

Bright airy restaurant, friendly, smiling staff. Original vegetarian dishes which are actually imaginative and tasty.

Being a vegetarian for most of my life has meant that when travelling in countries without a vegetarian tradition, I expect to have a choice of bland, uninspiring and fairly nutrient-free food when eating out. Wooo hoooo on finding Food for Friends in Brighton! There were 5 of us and we sampled one another's dishes .... Without exception extreme yumminess... More

Took my newly converted vegetarian mum here for her to experience some veggie food above pub standard. Hmmm...that didn't exactly work. The food was ok but not really that great. I don't like butternut squash so I had only 2 dishes to choose from. That's fine, but for a completely veggie restaurant the variety of dishes really isn't brilliant! We... More

I was a little worried when I first looked at the menu as vegan choices seemed limited. I went for two mezzes with tofu and one with dip for a starter to share, and the halloumi salad with tofu instead of halloumi. The tofu was the nicest I have ever tasted, bursting with flavour, crispy on the outside, soft in... More

As a table of two confirmed carnivores and two macrobiotic chefs we were potentially going to be hard to please but... Wow. This had to be the best meal (and value for money) any of us had had for a very long time. Incredible and interesting flavours, beautiful presentation, excellent friendly and relaxed service - this is now our outstanding... More
