A typical Thai welcome, good menu and great food. Visit the Ranelagh pub close by before or after your meal.

I like Thai food, and eventhough its not something I would normally eat while travelling abroad (unless I go to Thailand), we wanted to have a break from the standard English fare. The food here was good, but it was nothing extraordinary.

Having been given a warm welcome by the Thai staff and enjoying our starter, our experience at Sawadee took a nose-dive. After waiting for our main courses for over 20 minutes we asked when they were coming. The manager (the only non-Thai member of waiting staff?) informed us that he would check with the chef. Having waited a further 10... More

It is very wrong of you to comment on the racial/ethnic origins of anyone in the restaurant. Good restaurants are very busy in Brighton on a Saturday night, so a 20 minute wait is not unusual for a main course, although we always make sure drinks are served immediately so that customers can relax with something in front of them... We went back again, and the food was even tastier. We had one of their set menus, with the quantities being more than enough. Beautiful rice, deep fried prawns, curry in coconut milk, and much more. Comfortable seating, a good atmosphere and staff for the main part were friendly and efficient. The only negative was that the staff/management completely forgot... More

Not very often, but once in a while you have a meal where every course is great. Great chefs who know their stuff and a philosophy which is about making great food. Can't recommend Sawadee highly enough.

It was a wet bank holiday we stumbled across the Sawadee didn't book but got a table and fantastic service straight away, lucky because it filled up within minutes. The mixed starters were lovely and the mains were equally lovely, we don't know much about Thai food but were steered in the right direction, unhurried freshly cooked wonderful food, great... More

We were down in Brighton for the weekend and had a planned concert on the friday evening. We had booked ahead to reserve a table and the concert was running late so we were the last people to arrive in the restaurant. There were still several other diners there. The staff were friendly and the food was nice enough. The... More

stumbled across this restaurant by accident but so glad we did, it is quite small and the tables are very close together but we were not bothered by other diners, we did not book but got seated straight away, good timing as it was full within 10 minutes of getting there, a good sign. the service was quick but not... Very friendly and welcoming. Menu is vast and hard to just pick one thing. We had three starters to share. And the green prawn curry is amazing. I could not fault this restaurant or staff in any way. Great location, clean and reasonably priced. Will be back.

We have just had dinner here. The food was good and well worth the visit.... but for £60for two people, really thin scrappy paper napkins, cheap cutlery and horrible piped music did nothing to make the meal memorable. Similarly, the service was friendly but lacking in professionalism with little knowledge of the menu displayed. Prawns and coconut rice are good... More
