A blast from the past

The landlord must be an antique collectables collector. Vintage tins adorn the walls creating a warm friendly ambience. A popular local pub in the North Laines. Good plentiful Sunday roast lunches. Very crowded at lunch time. One of the best pubs in Brighton. Award winning pub!!! A must!!!

This is a great little pub, not too far from the train station in Brighton. I visit brighton regularly and always make an effort to drop in for a pint here. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere welcoming.

Perfect. This is an absolute gem. A lovely homely pub with a fine range of well kept & served beers & ales. Great menu - above average quality, superior pub grub of local produce. If you don't like this place, do the world & yourself a favour & never go in a pub again.

A great proper pub, once you settle down with a pint of fine ale you won't want to leave! Friendly atmosphere, good food and fine ales - what more do you want! Pubtastic!

Friendly, buzzy and everything that an english pub should be. Locals and visitors enjoy it here and it can be difficult to get a table so as soon as one is free take it. We often meet friends here and have a meal which is always good quality and varied. The range of drinks is also good even for a... More

Sandie and I were on a weekend break in Brighton and I love Fullers ales. Research pointed out that the Basketmakers was a fun pub, with great atmosphere and very respectable food. And so it proved. The Fullers ales were really well kept and served. It was a Friday night and a bit of a pre-theatre crowd at 6.00 pm... More

A consistently great pub. Tucked away in the North Laines area, the Basketmakers is worth seeking out. A Traditional pub with atmosphere. The wide range of cask ales and lagers should please almost everyone. Warm and friendly but it can get very busy and is tight for seating space.

Firstly, the positives. Great selection of beers and the 2 different ones I had were in great condition. The fish I ordered was tasty with nice crunchy batter and no stinginess in the portion size. Also, the prices were no worse than I was expecting down in the Deep South, probably a bit better - beer was from £3.60 and... More
