visited here on Saturday evening and this is one of the nicest pubs I have ever visited. 4 of us ate and everyone agreed that the food was great and so reasonably priced. The choice of beers is second to no pub I have ever been in and the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly. Add to that attentive and... More

I have just had Sunday roast here. I had pork. Which turned out to be pork belly.... My favourite! I left most of it because it was completely undercooked. The meat was tough, full of gristle fat and the crackling was soft. The vegetables were not freshly cooked but either kept on a hot plate or microwaved. For £11 I... More

Very tasty food, reasonably priced and great service! My girlfriend and I went here today, I had the bangers and mash which was very palatable. My girlfriend had fish and chips which by her account was also very good. The service was good and the bar lady Lou was particularly pleasant. Atmosphere is lively but be prepared to wait for... Visited here on weekend to Brighton as we heard they allowed dogs. Had a pint & a burger at lunchtime and loved it so much that despite there being loads of options in Brighton we returned the next day for Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast was spectacular (although I was a bit confused why they insist on serving it in... More

4 of us ate here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The service was excellent and friendly, the food was delicious. We had 3 different meals from the menu and they were all excellent value for money and great tasting. Especially good was the seafood platter, a monster of a meal with mussels, whitebait, fish gougons and king prawns served with... More

Brilliant service, would recommend the seafood platter, always friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Don't forget to open the tins on the wall for added fun!

A visit in the busy Christmas period just goes to show how good this pub really is. The bar staff were excellent serving people in the order they came to the bar in. There was no drop in the quality of the food despite the greater number o f orders being handled. Another very enjoyable visit to the Baskets.

I've never yet been here when it's been quiet, and I always seem to end up in the same seats. I'm sure this pub is permanently busy. I've not eaten here but it does good beers, friendly service and a rally good bunch of customers. I can understand why it's so popular.

We haven't eaten here yet but I am reviewing the pub on its beer and general atmosphere, both of which were brilliant great pub to fall into on any winter evening to keep warm and make new friends. The tables are close together so you end up chatting to other drinkers more than most pubs, still manages to maintain a... More
