Reasonable Japanese in a good location

Good cocktails, decent Japanese food, not inexpensive but worth it. Bento boxes are very good. Great location with outside seating for people watching, opposite the Pavilion and very near the theatres. Good service and reasonable wines.

I have been ordering food here for over a year on a weekly basis, normally take-away. The food is fresh and always good. Very helpful friendly service.

Me and the girls fancied a night out and didnt want to be surrounded by chavs, yobs and underage drinkers. Took a bit of research online to find somewhere that fit the bill but so glad we found the Oki Bar! Best cocktails in Brighton hands down. Lovely little venue that gets really busy so best to get there early... More

We stopped by here for an evening meal - we received a warm welcome and were found a table even though we didn't have a reservation. The waitress recommended drinks and items from the menu - both of which were served in a timely fashion. The food was great - not the best Japanese food I've eaten, nonetheless it tasted... More

My wife and I have eaten here before with our daughter, who knows Japanese food very well. This time we were on our own, so needed some help from the staff to order. The waitress was so patient and helpful, then the owner (or manager, not sure) came over and spent some time talking with us. The food is always... More

I love the food here. Service fab most of the tme if the manager/owner is there. One waiter is not the friendliest. And different friends have commented on him, all on different occasions. Restaurant decor not the best but the food is spot on.

Visited here for dinner last night. The sushi is fresh and great quality. The restaurant has a lovely calm vibe. Great choice of drinks and interesting cocktails available too. A couple of things we didn't like- 1. The desserts were awful, really dry, stodgy tasteless cake. 2. The staff are too rushed off their feet and come across quite rude.... More

I booked a table for 4 on Friday night at half 8. I was glad I booked as it was quite busy. We opted for tapas and it was a good selection and very tasty! Our waitress was lovely and accommodated us as 3 more people joined our party!! There was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant and they let... More

Oki-Nami has never failed to give us an excellent meal before we go next door to the Theatre Royal. We tend to book around 6.15pm and then make the best of a great choice of fresh Japanese cuisine (if you don't fancy raw fish you could try teryaki or a number of other dishes) And don't miss the warm sake!...
