Have been coming here for a while and it is defiantly without a doubt the best chinese in Brighton and Hove! The Sunday dim sum is fantastic, just as good as London china town and the salt and pepper squid is the best! Also lovely staff and atmosphere.

Note to TripAdvisor: many establishments are good but not very good: you need to put Good between Average and Very Good. Good food, but very expensive. Service not as good as last year, though fair.

Obscene size of starter ribs. They suggested a gap - result lemon chicken which comprised burnt chicken strips and a burnt orange sauce. Couldn't eat it! After much defence, main course was deducted. Any compensation -like an offer of free coffee? Please! No chance!

Preston Street in Brighton is full of restaurants competing for business and the China Garden has been there longer than most. Not cheap (reckon on £25+ per head) but better value than many of the restaurants found in the Laines. Fast and efficient service (which is added on the bill at 10%) and nearby parking in the underground car park... More

Had a great time here on our last night in Brighton. Living in Budapest Hungary it is hard to find good Chinese food, so I was glad we stumbled upon this restaurant. Food was excellent. Service was good, a little too much, but professional. I prefer it to be more low key. All in all a great night.

With china china now closed on Preston street we thought we would try china garden. Certainly a more upmarket feel with very attentive staff. food was prompt and very tasty. King prawns where indeed king and I would certainly recommend the spare ribs. beer selection is pretty poor but my main gripe was value. Portions where small, especially compared to... More

High end restaurant with all the trimmings. Certainly worth the money as the food is excellent and your special occasion will be treated as such. We went for my husband's birthday and it was fantastic. If you are in Brighton for even one day, try to go.

I was taken here by friends yesterday, after going to a marvellous show by Brighton & Hove Actually Gay Men's Choir. The amply sized tables make you realise how often we put up with cramped, basically uncomfortable, seating. That, and the immaculate white linen table cloths and napkins, set the standard for the evening. Good portions of tasty food, reasonably... More

I ate here with my friend on Friday 11 July 2014. We made the mistake of ordering too much food though! I would say that if you are ordering 2-3 dishes each, then don't have a starter too as the portions here are generous. A little on the expensive size, but you receive generous portions and everything was delicious. The... More

Unexpected stay in Brighton and we feel so lucky to have found this lovely restaurant. Food was well cooked and delicious. Service was excellent and we didn't feel at all "rushed" like you do in some places. Wine was good and not at all expensive for the quality. One of the best Chinese meals we have had.
