Went here for Sunday lunch last week and was very disappointed with the lunch menu. First of all the veggie option was down as "curry" - which seemed odd for a Sunday lunch. Upon ordering we were told it was a typo they hadn't bothered correcting ... The actual veggie course that turned up was something like a tin of... More

Brighton has hundreds of restaurants. Many of them offer good food. Few offer exceptional food. The Gingerman is one of those few. Ambience, presentation, waiting staff all fantastic. It's so good to get helpful advice from knowledgeable staff who then leave you alone in peace. We had an amazing plaice starter that was so fresh in the mouth, and the... More

We've been going to this place for years but unfortunately the last two times the food has been mediocre. I hope the owners read this so that they can correct it because I don't think we'll be going back. Whilst there's nothing wrong with the food, it is just very tasteless, really lacks flavour. I can't put my finger on... More

Gingerman is probably one of the best restaurants in Brighton. The service was great and it was delivered with a smile. The regular lunch menu did seem to be a bit boring and thus we decided to opt for the other three course menu. The food tasted as good as it looked on the plate. We were quite satisfied and... More

We probably go four times a year. Never disappointed. Never the same menu. This is a relaxed restaurant with some of the best value food...£200 for four with four bottles of wine... On my last visit a wonderful guinea fowl dish with so many elements cooked in different ways with morels and mushroom dust...great souffles...that evening it was apple with... More

Having read in more than one source about the Ginger trio of places in Brighton, we went here for their set lunch which at £18 for three courses was absolutely perfect . An amuse bouche of ox cheek, a wonderful little freshly baked loaf, and every dish we had was beautifully presented , wonderfully seasoned and one of the best... More

I visited the Gingerman on 23rd march to celebrate a milestone birthday of my pregnant partner. She was disappointed that she could not drink alcohol and so the staff created a non alcoholic cocktail for her including her favourite flavours. The food was delicious and a special mention for the mackerel starter which was as delicious as any starter I... More
