I was meeting up with a friend from Folkstone, who had also come in on the train and after studying one of the food guides decided that the Gingerman was the place to have lunch. What an excellent choice. We were met by a charming young lady and entered into the most cosy of dining rooms; no Champagne by the... More

We booked a table at this intimate restaurant on a busy Saturday evening and we're delighted by the excellent service and well priced food. The starters were superb, I had the game terrine and I thought it was an excellent combination of flavours that left you ready for more. Unfortunately I personally felt the main didn't deliver, I went for... More

We dined at The Gingerman Restaurant as a couple. We hadn't been there for a few years as it's usually booked on Fridays and Saturdays well ahead and previously we'd tried too late. As with previous visits, everything was amazing, from the cosy interior, subdued lighting, music at a quiet-ish volume to enhance the atmosphere, friendly professional staff and spotless... More

I came here for my birthday and it was an incredible experience. We had the set lunch which was only £18 for three courses. Before we began we were given a small cup of Potato Soup and some delicious bread and truffle and honey butter. I had Black Pudding, Poached Egg and Mustard Puree as a starter; it shouldn't have... We visited the restaurant as it was my son's 30th birthday and he had read good reviews. We opted for the fixed price lunch menu which had a choice of two each of starters, main course and dessert. The food was excellent and the service very friendly. We thought the fixed price menu was great value, you could go to... More

Mmmm, not sure. Went there for partners birthday on Saturday for dinner . As with many Brighton restaurants the Gingerman does the two evening sittings (19.00 and 21.00) and was pretty empty when we arrived. The welcome was nice and we were promptly seated. The restaurant is very small but well laid out so you don't feel rammed in by... More

We dined last night as a party of four, each with different dishes, and everyone agreed it was one of the finest dinners ever. We visit the Gingerman at least once a year as a special treat and have never been disappointed but last night was the best experience we have had there, definitely top of our list
