Even though I often walk past, I only heard about this restaurant through the owner's collaboration with the musician Matthew Herbert. The dinner menu may not be very cheap but the lunch menu at £15 for two courses is probably the best value in town for eating out if you like good food. And it's certainly the best meal I've... More

Booked the restaurant to coincide with taking place in the London to Brighton Classic Car run 2013 on the first Sunday in June. Despite being busy they accommodated our request to change the booking time forward by an hour and graciously received us even though we arrived alittle late. It is quite easy to find and being alittle bit on... More

We went to the The Gingerman in Norfolk Square the first weekend in June and found it to be a perfect little restaurant. It holds about 30 people and is a short walk from the main seafront of Brighton's attractions. Inside, the restaurant is intimate yet friendly, quite darkly lit but with no sense of people whispering and feel like... More

Four of us had a meal here to celebrate a birthday at the beginning of May, the fact the restaurant is so busy and with such a great atmosphere speaks for itself. The food was lovely, we were all delighted with what we ordered, their menu has some wonderful choices - there was a vegetarian in our group and he... More

The food here was phenomenal. The quality was right up there with the best. We really enjoyed our evening. The restaurant is a little small but the atmosphere is great and the service is very good with knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Went to the Gingerman with a party many years ago , thought then that it was small but as a lunch there were only two parties in. To celebrate our anniversary we thought ok lets splash out a bit and have a good time, Unfortunately not much choice for my partner as she is a veggie, and for me expensive... More

Title says it all. Great food. Restaurant very busy and quite cramped but quality of food excelled. Service was a little stretched at times but not too sure how you could fit in another waiter!

This is my favourite of the Gingerman restaurants (Ginger Pig, Ginger Dog, Ginger Fox), it is a small intimate restaurant perfect equally for groups or romantic meal for 2. The food is spectacular and reasonably priced. Have the fish it is always good. I am willing to make the bold statement that I have never had a bad meal here.... More

We went to the Gingerman years ago on a visit to Brighton by chance, and remembered it well so thought we'd try it again now. Given we had to book a long way ahead to get in, it shows its popularity. It isn't a large restaurant, but the food was still lovely, a good range of wines, and attentive service... More

Just had lunch here. It couldn't have been better. The waiter (Paul?) served the friendly warmth while the kitchen team provided the delicious food. The excellent wine lubricated the experience. Three courses for £18. Thank you. Recommended to all.
