been here a few times - first time I was blown away by the genius of taste combinations and attention to innovative combinations - second time less so overwhelmed as it felt more traditional tastes were the menu of choice - but still way above any 'norm' in brighton - 3rd time - heaven again. it... read more

Visited for my husband's birthday and couldn't have had a better experience. £25 for a set 3 course Sunday lunch is amazing value and great quality. Service was seamless, good wine list and they even delivered my husband's dessert with Happy Birthday piped on it.

Disappointed that the restaurant wasn't full on a Friday lunchtime, because it is remarkable value for the quality of food, ambiance and service. The service was unobtrusive but attentive; the wine list is very reasonably priced and while my starter was probably only average, the main course was superb - a delicate sauce allowed the fish flavours to stand out.

This restaurant always amazes me with its excellent food, wonderful friendly service and at lunch time especially good value for this class of establishment. Would always recommend it. Since the closure of the Hungry Monk it is our favourite place to eat.

The other restaurant is Tristan. This is 10 minutes from my flat and I would say it is the best place in Brighton for Lunch. The food is great, service brilliant and good value they have thought out everything that makes a really great restaurant.

We have eaten at Gingerman several times over the years. The food was certainly still very tasty, but the portion sizes have reduced to the point of it being comical! This despite it still being more expensive than comparable restaurants in Brighton!

We have eaten in restaurants all over the world and can honestly say this was the best meal ever! The staff were polite and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed the ambience of the place and are already planning a return visit to celebrate out joint birthdays in May. I am unable to find enough... More

Used to be very very special indeed but it now has a kids menu and allows openly displayed breast feeding. Not what you want to see at an expensive and once special place. I won't be back and used to go every month.
