Small tea rooms but wonderful afternoon tea

We had read reviews about this place before we went and were not dissapointed. We had afternoon tea, it was delicious ! The salted caramel macaroons were yummy and the scones were really tasty. A well deserved treat and a lovely little place, thank you !

I felt that a lot of time had been put into the interior decorations of this little cafe. The tables are very sweet and everything screams 'vintage styled' tea and cake. All the hot drinks come in cute little tea cups. The staff are friendly and the food is very good, although not cheap. The only downside is that it... More

The Tea rooms are really cute and in a great central location. However, the afternoon tea is really bad value. Four tiny cakes and three even tinier sandwiches for £14 is a complete joke. There are lots of cafes in Brighton and Hove that do excellent tea and cake that I would prefer to go to.

Highly recommended. I was informed by the locals that is one of the oldest restaurants in Brighton. Excellent traditional british atmosphere, lovely place, full of the smells of the different tea types that were offered, as well as the delicious cakes. Don't forget to try the double chocolate cake, it's suburb!

Would highly recommend. The food was delicious well made food. This is the place to come if you like home made cakes and scones. We arrived at 12 and there was plenty of space but by 1pm the place was full. This tea room is beautifully decorated and the food is all served on old fashioned crockery

Superb comestibles! Fabulous food, although our table for four was far too small so we had to put loads of things onto the floor. I had the poached egg with smashed avocado and feta on toast and it was heavenly. My daughter had the cinnamon French toast with bacon (yummy) and my son had boiled eggs and soldiers (cute presentation... More

We had a slice of carrot cake and a cream tea with a scone. The carrot cake was very big, fresh and delicious! The scone as well good size, very light and not too dense, and the jam was incredible! All that combined with a great look and feel of a 40's tea house. Check it out!

This tearoom had a good 1940's theme but it felt as if they thought that's all they needed. The food was very expensive for a tearoom, with tea for one and one scone with a tiny amount of cream costing £6. My daughter had eggs on toast but the toast was so hard she couldn't chew it and so she... More

We were looking for a place to have breakfast early on a Sunday morning and most places were not yet open. We stumbled across the Blackbird and thought we'd give it a go. Our order was taken very quickly but the food was really disappointing. I asked for toast and got slices of hard, dry, over toasted white bloomer. The... More

Really nicely done tearooms with a 1940s vibe. Full of vintage tins, boxes and wallpapers. Food delicious, I love the bacon sandwiches with homemade ketchup and their cakes are fab. Charming staff as well and you never feel hurried which is so welcome!
