Lovely little tea room

Came back to Brighton after 10 years and found in little tea room in The Lanes, paid a visit and already fall in love with it. Stunning atmosphere with lovely little backyard for a nice summer day. Delicious scone and cake coupling with good range of tea. Wish it was here when I lived there.

Just arrived back to rain in my home town coming from glorious sunshine in Brighton and this was the last stop made. Beautiful little tea shop with awesome looking cakes although couldn't be tempted with my hangover..! Had a great latte with a 'smashed avocado bacon feta and poached egg' breakfast, it was smashed! Great food sitting in the little... More

I chose this tea room after reading a blog about best tea rooms in Brighton. I met a friend there and the staff were rather sharp with her when she asked if I may have been sat outside. The girl who took our order never smiled or seemed remotely interested in us or her job. The young gentleman who also... More

I have visited this lovely little tea room twice. It has a charming atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the tea and cakes varied and delicious!. Tucked close to the Lanes it makes a great place to have a rest from shopping! The toilets are clean!

Excellent tea and cafes! The garden was quite noisy though with a machine (?AC ?fan). Would still recommend though but sit inside!

I usually only post good reviews, as you can see on my profile... This little cafe looks great, the decor is old school and the so is the furniture and porcelain.. So far so good... I'm really not sure what the sausage was in my sandwich - it was undercooked, looked like it had been boiled not grilled or fried... More

I have to say my first experience of 'Blackbird' was positive hence why I returned, not sure what has happened , cakes are very dry ... either due to different recipe or they are stale. The tea ware needs changing, chipped cups and nothing actually corresponds in colour etc. Service on a positive note is always friendly but I do... More

Mattew, the owner, was very kind. I regret i had not tasted the small set-cakes [if you order 'english tea', then you have tea pot and all that lovely petit cakes]... More
