Description: Recently awarded the accolade of "Best Tea & Cakes in Brighton" (Brighton Source Magazine), Blackbird Tea Rooms with its quintessentially English traditional style, has become the favourite retreat of lovers of good old fashioned quality and service. In addition to our traditional tea and cakes we also have a wide selection great breakfast and lunch dishes (see website for menu). We are very busy all day both Saturday & Sunday and therefore are unable to take reservations at the weekends (sorry).

Blackbird tea rooms are a throwback to Lyons tea Houses, traditional English afternoon teas served with panache and lots of gooey cakes. I loved my afternoon here and the service was friendly, efficient and quick. It's such a shame that the venue is a little on the small side as several visitors couldn't get tables when I visited as there... More

Nice tea house. Sat upstairs and waited a good 15 minutes to get served tea and then another 10 to receive the welshrarebit. My friend only ordered tea cake but because the food all came together unfortunately it seemed like a long wait. This place felt more like a business than a friendly tea house. I'd go back but before... More

What a gorgeous gem this is. Right in the heart of Brighton's buzzing shopping area, yet always a calm oasis. Very friendly and energetic staff. And the food - delicious!! Savouries are filling and tasty, with new things on the menu each day, and the cakes are sublime. There's a lovely outdoor seating area for warmer days. The decor throughout... More

Stopped for coffee and scones; nice range cakes; lovely atmosphere. Old fashioned decor, plates which were lovely. Music created a nice ambience.

Food is very good as is the decor - we all had the afternoon tea. Service wasn't particularly friendly, we were brought a scone and pots of tea with no explanation of when the other food would be served. Had to go downstairs to check that we had the right order. We also asked for another pot of tea and... More

Not a good experience. Horrible dry scone, grumpy staff no cutlery and in a hurry to clear away. Definitely much better places to go in brighton.

looks good from the outside, quirky on the inside. Ordered coffee and a toasted bacon sandwich, coffee delivered quickly, some 20 minutes later we were asked if we wanted anything else to drink, when I told her that I'd rather wait until I'd had my sandwich the waitress disappeared and within seconds I had my sandwich! Cold, hard toast, scraps... More

Wanted a quick bite to eat and drink while shopping on a rainy afternoon in Brighton. The tearoom was quite when we went in however it soon became very busy! The staff were run off their feet bless them. I had the soup of the day, which was brilliant! Lovely and warm plus a side of yummy toasted bread. The food... More

My sister and I visited here on a sunny afternoon in Brighton and it certainly didn't disappoint our expectations of a tearoom! The rose tea and Earl Grey were absolutely delicious and we accompanied them with eggs benedict (equally tasty) If you're looking for a quaint stop-off in Brighton go to the Blackbird Tea Rooms- you'll leave smiling and feeling... One of the cafes I repeatedly go back. For it's theme, drink, food, music, staff uniform all gives you an atmosphere of wartime England. Definitely this is the place for visit if people come to Brighton. I recommend cream tea!
