Description: Recently awarded the accolade of "Best Tea & Cakes in Brighton" (Brighton Source Magazine), Blackbird Tea Rooms with its quintessentially English traditional style, has become the favourite retreat of lovers of good old fashioned quality and service. In addition to our traditional tea and cakes we also have a wide selection great breakfast and lunch dishes (see website for menu). We are very busy all day both Saturday & Sunday and therefore are unable to take reservations at the weekends (sorry).

A real tea rooms at long last. With real china and friendly staff with the sweetest pinafores. They had a fantastic range of tea and cakes. My family and I had a pot for 4 between us. My brother and mother shared a carrot cake and my sister and I had a delicious scone with jam and fresh cream. This... More

We found it hard to pick which tea room in Brighton to visit. We nearly passed over the Blackbird from the website. Firstly the actually shop is far cuter and cosier than it looks in the photos. Secondly, I was sad that we would only get one scone - until the order arrived! What scone! Large, very filling and definitely... More

I love this place, I lived in Brighton for a year and regularly went back to this place with friends or to just chill out on my own for a while. The staff are all so lovely, the cakes...I mean. They are amazing. The outside bathroom is so cute and the whole tea room is filled with little trinkets, and... More

A wonderful tea room that takes you back to yesteryear in more ways than one. The food is perfect, the decor is amazing and the staff take you back to a time when things were simple and pleasant.

We stumbled across this tea room when we were looking for a breakfast spot after sleeping in one morning. We got there about 10:30 and had the best meal of our trip. When I got the bill it said 50% discount and with no explanation. It turns out that before 11:00 am Monday to Friday breakfast is half price. The... More

This is a very beautiful tea room. It was busy when we arrived and the waitress was not happy, her manner could be described as " mildly venomous" , perhaps it was a bad day in the tearoom. My friends cream tea was disappointing, the scones were very hard and looked as vintage as some of the decor.. The tea... More

The Blackbird was just as I had envisioned it - beautiful Victorian home, Victorian wallpaper and decor, and a perfect place to stop for afternoon tea! I really LOVE this British tradition! I chose simply the cream tea, which was just a pot of tea and scone with jam. I watched others have full tea or as lunch, and everything... More

Blackbird tea rooms are a throwback to Lyons tea Houses, traditional English afternoon teas served with panache and lots of gooey cakes. I loved my afternoon here and the service was friendly, efficient and quick. It's such a shame that the venue is a little on the small side as several visitors couldn't get tables when I visited as there... More

Nice tea house. Sat upstairs and waited a good 15 minutes to get served tea and then another 10 to receive the welshrarebit. My friend only ordered tea cake but because the food all came together unfortunately it seemed like a long wait. This place felt more like a business than a friendly tea house. I'd go back but before... More
