Neighbouring the Hotel, Pub du Vin is located within the old Sussex Arts Club. Some would presume we are a 'pub of wine', not so. Imagine a traditional British pub with a Hotel du Vin twist.Imagine enjoying local legendary ales from Sussex Best Bitter, Hophead, Thatchers Gold and Smoky Nol to name a few, all served in a traditional pewter tankard and traditional pub food, the best traditions of a British pub. Welcome to your new local. Then add house beer battered fish and chips, warm, homemade signature pies, handcut chips and steak. Then there are snacks from the bar like homemade crisps, pickled eggs, pork pies and pork scratchings and you have an unpretentious, filling menu to leave you smiling.

Great post marathon meal

My friend and I dined here after the Brighton Marathon. We both had scallops to start, which were absolutely delicious. My friend had fish and chips for a main and while it was really tasty, only ate about half as the portion was huge! Two large fish and lots of lovely big chunky chips served... read more

Each time I come to Brighton, I stop by this place to have lunch. As usual very good food (pub format) and excellent service. I recommend strongly this place if you are around.

We love Hotel du Vin. And we love Pub du Vin in Birmingham so were pleased to find Brighton had one! Sadly, it wasn't a great experience. It is a tiny corridor of a place. It feels like a bit of a sad afterthought! It's not a comfortable, cosy pub that you'd expect. The drinks list is mostly wine. To... More

This is what CAMRA had in mind when they started their campaign. Pub du Vin has superb beers and friendly staff. Top drawer.

We booked a stay at hotel du vin last year for a special occasion mainly because of the pub du vin next door. We were very disappointed to discover only one real ale being served and also served in a wrong pint glass and not offered a tankard. I hate false advertising and never thought that hotel du vin would... More

We had a lovely evening here. We haven't been before so it's a nice little find. The decor is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Sited next door to Hotel du Vin, the pub is formally the Sussex Arts Club. A gastro pub with slightly inflated prices. Average pint £5. Bottles of wine can be expensive, not to everyone's budget. Not an extensive menu and £15 for cod and chips. It was a Wednesday evening, so not much going on. Staff attentive and chirpy. Great... More

We stayed in brighton for the weekend and after a day of shopping we stopped here for a bottle of bubbles and nibbles. Thought the prices were very reasonable and nice selection of nuts etc. Would defiantly visit again when next in brighton

I've been here a few times and for a 'pub' which is supposed to be about real ale/beer and good food it does badly at each. Only three ales and a pretty standard selection of craft beers and lagers from the other pumps. Service is really slow and the prices are expensive. There are much better pubs in the area.... More
