great scandinavian bar

Very relaxed atmosphere, comfortable upstairs seating with a bit more space than in the bar area. Good choice of authentic food and drinks.

Visited the pub with a few friends. Staff were very unfriendly. Ordered food and it arrived luke warm/cold and my food even had a couple of hairs in which were definitely not mine since I have no hair! We complained to the manager who was very rude and unhelpful and told us they never get complaints and we were just... More

Very quirky and with a great atmosphere, but there much lauded Scandinavian menu is distinctly overrated. Sadly the food here is as much about fashion as it is quality.

A Nordic bar/restaurant is a novel idea but this was a real find: thankfully the beer, while authentically Scandinavian, was not priced authentically as well! The knowlefgable bar staff know their ales and there is also a good selection of food on offer. Clearly popular, the bar looks from the outside like a fisherman's cottage but has extra seating upstairs.... More

We arrived one Sunday night gone 11pm very weary and hungry after travelling back from France. We had tried to find somewhere to eat, but to no avail, so we decided to go into Northern Lights for a drink and asked if they knew of a 'Take-Away'. They apologised that their kitchen was no longer open, but if we fancied... More

We were taken here on a ghost walk to sample the fisherman's friend vodka shots - warms you up and clears the sinuses too. Next day we went back to sample the glocki (mulled wine) and mulled cider. Didn't eat but the menu looked good so will go back another day.

Go here! Great atmosphere in the heart of Brighton, not eaten here but good for a drink. Something different from the pub chains

The food is great and the portions are very decent, there is a good selection of drinks and although it is slightly overpriced, I think the good atmosphere is worth it.

After a very "foodie" week in Brighton recently, Northern Lights was the highlight at the end. Everything about it was enjoyable, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, amazing elderflower cider, and the best meal of the week. If I lived nearer I like to think this would become my go-to pub.

We came here and had a glass of wine and a soft drink. Were going to eat but everything was "sticky", like they had not cleaned up from the night before. Glasses not very clean. More of a bar than anything else. Sort of quirky. Probably fun if going out for a stag or hen do but not for lunch.... More
