A Hidden Gem

Despite being quite close to the pier, it appears a lot of people haven't experienced the charm of Northern Lights and that is a shame. It is pretty unique in being an authentic Scandinavan bar (although if you happen to visit when the ice hockey is on, its clearly team Suomi). The service I have... read more

Came here on a night out with work colleagues. Cheap, high quality drinks and amazing food. Definitely worth a visit, especially silly if you're hungry. Ask for the Thors favourite, with meatballs and chips, washed down with a Tuborg.

This bar/restaurant is really brilliant. The overall feel of the place is really nice, the food is delicious and the drink options are endless! Definitely one of my fave places in Brighton!

A fantastic bar if you want a crazy, quirky night. Although the food is decent, I would recommend this place more for drinks in the early hours. I love how unique it is and it's a real shame there aren't more places like it. The Icelandic white ale is great and the music is also good. It's also great for... More

Tucked in a corner just off the sea front, an atmospheric bar full of quirky characters. Gets very crowded at weekends but that's testament to its popularity!

Really interesting food and great life music. Friendly staff made for a great evening. The Lady Birds were playing the night we visited and they were excellent.

Delicious Meatballs in mustard sauce...and a large helping of Herring, Gravadlax Rye Bread and various pickles and potatoe salads...

Visited the pub with a few friends. Staff were very unfriendly. Ordered food and it arrived luke warm/cold and my food even had a couple of hairs in which were definitely not mine since I have no hair! We complained to the manager who was very rude and unhelpful and told us they never get complaints and we were just... More

Very relaxed atmosphere, comfortable upstairs seating with a bit more space than in the bar area. Good choice of authentic food and drinks.

Very quirky and with a great atmosphere, but there much lauded Scandinavian menu is distinctly overrated. Sadly the food here is as much about fashion as it is quality.
